So I've just started my own religion, I believe in a giant walrus who lives up a mountain above the clouds, he tells me I can't wear the colours black and white and I must hop on one foot for 5 mins at 3:20 every saturday, I've just recruited HBA and Sissoko and Cabaye into my relgion because they had a sign. So what are the club going to do to respect my beliefs ? I want to wear a yellow shirt and orange shorts and I need a break of 5 mins in the game to observe my hopping. See where this shit ends. There's a about as much chance of the giant walrus on a mountain existing than the god that these other religions follow. Can't cave in to these demands sets a bad precedence.

Seriously, you've just discredited anything you've wrote with ridiculous statements like that. Hehe, like I had any credit anyway. Don't get me started on religion, I fucking hate it but this isn't an appropriate forum to endless discuss the stupidity of people...... or is it ?

This. I've been out of the loop for a bit and just catching up here. Can't believe this is an issue, fuck off with your religious crap keep that made up bullshit out of the sport. We've been sponsored by a bank who offer loans since Cisse has been employed by the club, what really is the difference here as JS says people need to take responsibility for their own actions, really.

2014/15 NUFC Kits - New third kit revealed on page 143

wow that is truly awful. -
the job at QPR wasn't just bad it was beyond awful a series of absolutely terrible buys who are mostly past their best and on stupid money. How anyone walks straight back into a Premier League job after that is beyond me I think there was a lot going on at QPR, and players like Junior Hoilett and Bosingwa were not necessarily thought of at the time as bad signings. Hoilett especially I thought was a coup for them. But the problem was that they came for the money, clearly had no feeling for QPR just there for the payday. Not totally absolving him, because clear from his time at Man Shitty and QPR that he finds it difficult to motivate players on big wages, and isn't great at spending money. Stoke is probably a much better fit for him though.
-
I think that's a good appointment for Stoke. People forget about his work at Blackburn and Fulham, and concentrate on Man shitty and QPR. But he did really well at the two clubs which are more similar to Stoke than his last two appointments. Don't think they will get relegated under him, and that really should be enough for the Stoke fans, they also won't have to totally gut their squad which is what they would have had to do if they had go with a manager who preferred to play a more cultured style.

Twice in the last decade, I think, is the amount of times we've finished top ten. Should we really expect more ?
-
That's the thing, that's what they think is acceptable for us. The fans however have a different opinion. Someone's wrong.
-
The only good thing in that statement, is that they've outlined exactly what is acceptable for Pardew next year, he's now got to finish in the top ten, or this quote will be thrown back in their face. Don't think he's capable of it. The affordable bit is worrying, treating the fans like customers of their stores, belving that we'll continue to buy their products as long as the price is right !!
-
The obvious thing to say and the line that pardew seems to be putting out there is that "It couldn't really get any worse" than this season. But it can, we started off ok last season, getting a few results that didn't really reflect how badly we were playing. Every chance that we will be in for a fight for a PL lives again. The other thing is that Ashley retaining Pardew, while not sending out the message that 16th is acceptable, it considerably lowers the level of what is acceptable. Finishing 10-14th next year could be seen a success and progress by the ownership and IMO at least that is not acceptable for NUFC. Not wanting to fall into the generally mocked "deluded newcastle fan" section, but really we should be competing much higher up the table than that. With Pardew in charge there really is very little hope, he's already started getting the message across that the transfer policy we've been following of bringing in young talented and technical players from abroad is the reason for our bad season last year and the only way to fix it is to buy experienced English players. This could potentially set us back a few years and undo all the good work we have done since Carr joined. I don't see any reasons to be positive at all just more reason to worry.

Tyne and Wear doesn't exist though, hasn't for many a year. The former metropolitan borough of Tyne and Wear, is now, Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, North Tyneside and South Tyneside county councils. Those 5 councils still work a lot together, but the only really formal tie is to Nexus which they all fund to administer Public Transit. Anyway I was born in Jesmond and lived the majority of my childhood in North Tyneside, I have a affiliation to Northumberland but when asked I always say I'm from Newcastle.

Got to say I don't have an awful lot of hope for 2013/14 with this clown in charge. Best we can hope for is mid table mediocrity, inevitable 3rd round cup exits, probably being embarrassed live on TV at some lower league team. Likely another relegation fight, until eventually Ashley wakes up to the folly of persisting with this charlatan, lets hope when that happens there is someone capable available and willing to take over and Ashley actually makes the right call for once.

Unlucky, mentals guys. Not been keeping up to date with it all but what's happened to Ancelotti ?
-
So much for fat Sam's whining about financial fair play. Doubt Liverpool would accept the same offer from us so moot point anyway. Didn't we have a sell on clause 25% or something, might be more money heading our way for us to waste on talented young players that don't fit our manager's footballing philosophy.
-
He's finished there IMO. It's unrelated to the shit thing apparently, I think he probably said he would stick with them if they got into the PL, if not he would look at other options. Wouldn't be shocked to see him end up in the PL next season, but Wigan too may be a good shout for him if they lose Martinez.

For once I agree with the inane childish use of a smiley here. WTF man !! This is even worse Childish use? He was making a joke I believe. Did the fact that he said he was joking only two posts up point you in that direction. FFS.

What does it say? the short termism of it all, perhaps this is just a bad year for it with the increased money but nobody's getting time any more, first hint of failure the money men panic and shove guys out the door, Pulis is unsurprising considering style and spend over a prolonged period but Mancini sacked for finishing 2nd? Could he not have been given another chance given he was under 0 pressure from the fans and did win the league last year? Adkins sacked after a draw away at Chelsea and 2 promotions in a row? Brian McDermott sacked despite working with a championship side after very limited investment? And I can't see it improving any time soon with the cash only going up and boardrooms getting dumber in how they run clubs and panicking about the loss of prem/champions league revenue instead of having plans in place to cover such an eventuality, honestly think Wenger is the last of the really long term manager's we'll see for quite a while I agree with you, I just wanted someone else to make the stability argument. There is definitely a case to me made for questioning why so little patience is being shown to managers. Giving them a fair crack of the whip to succeed at many clubs doesn't seem to have happened. The ownership and fans of the clubs want success and the biggest barrier to this they often see is the manager. Ferguson is the poster boy (well old red faced git actually) for stability, Moyes and Wenger too help the argument and it's sometimes too simple a solution to just jettison the man in charge and expect things to instantly get better, if they don't get rid of the new guy too, repeat until they get it right. Not that that has any bearing on our current situation because it's pretty damn clear to anyone takes a close look at us that the problems we have stem from our manager and that the underlining structure, financial side, scouting network, academy set up is on the right lines, we just need someone in charge that fits our system rather than works against it.

I agree totally with the core principle in that blog. Pardew and Carr are clearly not working, something has to be done there to sort it out. Either direct Carr to look for a different type of player, replace Carr or replace Pardew. I know which one I would do.
-
Cisse v Southampton, well ahead of any others tbh.
-
It's going to be a big rebuilding job for whoever goes there if they intend on moving away from the Pulis way of doing things.
-
Apart from him being an absolute wanker Martinez is also probably the last manager you would want if you were already defensively suspect. He has no clue how to fix a defence and his teams routinely make school boy errors at the back. How many goals did we concede last year ?
-
I hope and suspect you are f***ing right but the bookies aren't ruling it out at all.

Well, Rafa is kind of moving in. 7/2 fav with William Hill and Paddy Power And RDM is moving out Read more: http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/214200/rafa-proper-project-build?page=12#ixzz2TwLnaOFJ Hmmm not so fucking crazy now am I ?

Says it all really. I took them quite a few years to get sick of him though. Well he did bring them Premiership football so sticking with him was hardly unexpected. But even little Stoke want progress. I don't think they think of themselves at "little" at all, always harping on about how they are the second oldest club in the league and founder members. They think they can do better than Pulis, we'll see. Important that the board back their new manager whoever they pick.
