Would have disrupted the season. This is good timing.

My God man. This club Kind of glad this has happened tbh. Most people were against Mitchell from the outset with how things transpired, and even up till now were having a go at the guy. Think he made the smart move to leave, especially with Eales now having to step down, who was the one that brought him in. They should just make Nickson DOF at this point so there is continuity, and he is also comfortable working with Howe. Just hope Mitchell doesn't come back in for Bunce if he goes elsewhere, as he was a great acquisition. Long term not sure this is ideal, but while Eddie was s manager, it's likely for the best, as he isn't comfortable working with a recruitment focused DOF. Going to be very interesting to see how recruitment goes. At least now it will all be down to what Howe is comfortable with and there'll be no more blaming Mitchell for everything. All for the best I think.

He'll be confident of starting more regularly there as they have no one near Isak's level. Also has the Man City familiarity with Maresca and Palmer too. Understandable decision. Going to Man Utd would have been the really bad decision.

Well, he couldn't make any signings the last two windows because we had already messed up the PSR situation. What he has done so far is move on Almiron and Kelly for decent fees and bring in a number of promising young players. Pretty sure he revamped Monaco's whole setup and team profile by moving on a number of underperforming older players and having them start bringing in younger players. This has since started to bear fruit the last few seasons. Videos were posted when he joined, about the changes he made at Monaco to setup them up to be in a better position going forward. They were not short term quick fixes, which is likely why their fans were moaning. The videos are still in this thread. His record of signings he has made at other clubs has also been posted and it isn't one to sniff at. Not sure why people keep trying to make out this guy is some sort of buffoon.

It's pretty clear this is what he meant, as being careless with PSR has meant we were unable to spend for the last 3 windows. It was something that absolutely needed sorting out. Really weird that the quote keeps being used as a stick to beat him with.

Makes me laugh every time

People are nervous already?!

Hopefully this is more of a supporting type role, and only really playing in emergencies, and perhaps even as a prior step before becoming a coach maybe? Think we'll still get a striker in and so shouldn't be an issue. If this is for him to still be a legit option for the team as a player, that would be pretty ridiculous.

The reports are that Delap wants to maximise his playing opportunities to try and break into the England squad. If he's going to Chelsea, it will be because they have told him he will start for them. Personally, I am shocked that Chelsea have decided on him as their lead striker, having secured Champions League football. I like Delap, but not sure he's quite ready for that yet. Chelsea fans will be fuming. They've been talking about the likes of Gyokeres and Osimhen. Maybe he'll rise to it like Palmer did though. Will be very interesting to see how it plays out.

Guess we'll see how it plays out. If the going gets tough can see him being a massive headache.

Simon Jordan: “I had a conversation with Gary O’Neil about him and what a good player he was, and how potentially challenging he was to the other players because of the manner in which he wanted to operate and felt that he was beyond questioning about things such as timekeeping and other things like that. “No doubt this boy can play. No doubt this boy is a top club player. Whether he can get away with what he’s getting away with at Wolves at another club… guaranteed a big club will take him. Like, every player who is a problem managers think they can solve problems, so they think ‘this won’t happen to me’. “If he goes to a bigger club environment where the dressing room is bigger, bolder, more standard-oriented dressing room, with all due respect to what’s happening at Wolves, then maybe he won’t be allowed to get away with that. But he is a player.”

They need to chill out. They had a great run in the Champions League this season and made a bunch of money off it. They also ended up in the Europa league which they are likely to be favourites for. Had we gone back to back seasons without Champions League because of a final day loss at home to Everton, it would have been devastating.
-
Similarly to last season we almost fell at the final hurdle due to Isak being burnt out at the end and not fit. I'll say it yet again ... we'd better focus on sorting out the squad depth for this team or next season is not going to go well at all.
-
I'll need a bit of time man I can't even describe how on edge I've been the last couple of hours
-
We finally benefitted from dodgy decisions at Old Trafford man We are so incredibly fortunate. Had we lost out because of this loss at home to Everton, it would have been impossibly difficult to take. Still mad at the team even now. Infuriating
-
£60 million Garnacho?! Surely not!
-
Conte's won with three different teams in Serie A now right? Very impressive. First one to do that?
-
You're asking £40 million for Antony I thought? Going to be an interesting summer for you. Really think accepting the Saudi Fernandes bid would be your best bet, and doing a proper rebuild. Provided they're confident in landing some good players that will perform for this manager, who it looks like is staying.
-
Was thinking of Antony. What did McTominay go for, like £20 million? Looking too cheap at the minute. Such a mess.
-
It's not even like that. It's just mad that it's a Friday night with only a few games on, and somehow we have three ex Man United players scoring great goals. So crazy
-
Making light of almost a £100 million loss on two players is something! I just can't get over how all these lot keep leaving for losses and doing well elsewhere. It's astonishing.
-
Antony's actually scored again tonight for Betis. Lukaku has just done as well for Napoli. That's another almost £200 million worth of transfer fees for Man United that are shining elsewhere.
