I know ... I'm really hoping the right winger that comes in is good upfront too, and more experienced there than Gordon is. Think that would put us in really good stead.

Yes, absolutely. The whole environment just seems really good for learning and development at the minute. And we also have a number of first team players that are top pros and great characters.

I imagine deciding what type of striker to bring in and at what cost, was going to have some impact on the spending in other positions. Now we've moved decisively on this, hopefully we see other decisive movement regarding the first team now.

Post. Was only earlier this week this came up I think.

Probably, but Nigeria isn't all Christian. There are Muslims too, albeit mostly from the north. And there are also a bunch of morally bankrupt heathens.

It's the height, speed and comfort on the ball. We've definitely sought out a youngster with those same traits.

I think we'll sign a right winger that can also play up top too. Not having Europe this season means that will suffice for now I believe.

Think the young talents signed this summer is a really promising sign.

Think we've made this signing because Wilson will be staying. The injury he picked up pretty much put aside any worthwhile sale of value. Also appears the injury isn't a major one too, and he should be back by game week 3 or so at the latest.

    Think it was Alan Nixon.

I think this is what we will be doing. I think signing a right winger that can also play upfront for another option upfront would then solidify things perfectly. Watched a few videos of him since we were linked the other day. Hard to truly know everything from clips, but looks quick, impressive physically and has some technicality.

Looks like money might be tight. Be interesting to see how we navigate that, and who we bring in.
  13. Can't believe they've broken Lenny Yoro already. Out for 3 months?! The club is so toxic. It's all coming up Harry Maguire again. Was he the one that trod on Yoro by any chance?
  14. Emery sometimes plays with two strikers in a 4-2-2-2. He might be looking to do that more often again, with Watkins and Lukaku upfront.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

We all grew up watching wingers play on their strong side and be very effective scoring and assisting goals. Not sure why it freaks people out so much nowadays.

Okay, but that's not the context under which any of these discussions are being had, regarding the right wing options. It goes without saying that if no one comes in that it will be between Murphy and Almiron, if Gordon isn't used there.

The new right winger that we'll be bringing in, and that has only been discussed the whole summer on here. Is everything okay?

Nope. Miggy is better defensively though, but we need more in those forward areas.

Think Murphy is ahead of Miggy as a backup now, personally. He was pretty productive last season. He's also younger and cheaper.

Just been catching up on the earlier excitement about Guler. Reminded me of the link to Brahim Diaz in the lead up to the January window. https://www.defensacentral.com/real_madrid/1703754751-el-newcastle-le-ofrece-un-dineral-a-florentino-por-brahim-precio-de-crack I wonder if we might actually be showing an interest in him again too. He had a really good season just past. They were saying we were willing to go up to around £55 million in January. Between Diaz and Guler, one of them is not going to play enough next season, and if we like both, perhaps we are interested in whoever Real Madrid decide is available between the two.
  21. Man United have just signed two younger strikers the past two seasons, and have done a poor job of nurturing young attacking talent lately. Strange decision.
  22. Gallagher is a good player, that just isn't the most pleasing on the eye at times. Think he'd fit in well at Simeone's Atletico actually.
  23. I think Howe rates him really highly and it is again more evidence that he wasn't brought in as a squad player. I doubt he would have agreed to join as a squad player in the first place, and that salary if accurate is further evidence that he is seen as a first team player.
