  1. Yeah, last I heard was £30 million. Latest club mentioned was Spurs I believe. Would be a really good fit for them.
  2. It's all so uncertain man. In my opinion it was a big problem last season, and held back Hojlund. You did try for Olise though, so maybe you get one in.
  3. Unless you get some different types of wingers I'm not sure what happens with Hojlund tbh. Pretty sure he already wants to strangle the life out of Rashford, Garnacho and Anthony.
  4. I'm on record as saying I really like Zirkzee, and I can kind of see the thinking with him, as he is more of a creator, and their wingers prefer to get in behind and look to score rather than create. Some version of how Firmino setup Mane and Salah. However, I'm not sure he's ready to come straight in and perform straight away. I'm not sure where Rashford's head is at. I'm not sure Garnacho is a first teamer as he is. And so that front three together could be shaky. Now if they go and sign a Toney and let's say a Raphinha as well then it will make more sense to me. Toney can setup the wide men and still be a presence upfront and score goals. Raphinha improves that right side significantly. Then Zirkzee and Garnacho can then be rotated in. What that then means for Hojlund though, I don't know.
  5. Our first 11 was pretty much set, outside of the right wing. At the time I was then expecting us to use Gordon there with Barnes coming in. Trippier is getting on and needed a quality backup behind him, which Tino was, and for a decent fee. Burn had locked down the left back role, with Targett still in the mix, but with both not really being long term options, we signed Hall as another option, on an initial loan that got confirmed this year at a decent fee. Man Utd have just spent £52 million rising to £59 million on an 18 year old centre back with a year's experience in Ligue 1, who was in the last year of his contract, and given him £115,000 a week wages from his £5,000 a week wages at Lille. Now that is all perfectly fine, but I am not going to let @Froggy keep harping on about how the new structure are being more sensible and all that nonsense. Also I don't want to hear him complaining about the squad not being up to par later in the season and making excuses like he always does, after doing these sort of deals.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Apparently really wanted Juventus and so was holding out for that over West Ham. Will depend on whether we can put across a more convincing pitch that sways him from Juventus.
  7. Signing players that don't seem to be addressing immediate concerns in the first team.
  8. Chelsea's whole model has been buying young prospects from everywhere. A number of who were teenagers without much experience, similar to Yoro. It is nothing like what we did when we bought Bruno, Isak and Botman. They were all older, more experienced players that we bought at far better value.
  9. Same stuff was being said on here when Chelsea were spending a billion. I'm far from convinced with their approach, so we'll see what happens.
  10. The Athletic article on the Yoro signing has dropped. As expected, reads like the same old Man Utd to me. The fee is actually £52 million rising to £59 million!!! Liverpool, PSG and Real Madrid all fell back due to the money being so much. Was being suggested/threatened to Yoro that he would not be played the upcoming season if he didn't accept the Man Utd move, and waited to move to Real on a free, as was his original plan. Be very interesting to see how this all plays out next season for him.
  11. That picture they used man Even he's perplexed by what Chelsea are doing!
  12. I'm still not sure how we've ended up here tbh. I hope people paid attention to what he said about building something sustainable and the need for some patience in that regard. Doubt it though ...
  13. This. Was. Unreal. What an upgrade. The bit about him and Howe going back to their days in the south coast was very interesting. Cannot see Eddie leaving at all anytime soon. Seems that was a big part of Mitchell joining. Big thanks to Ashworth for being the weasel he was. Landed on our feet with this one!
  14. Absolutely brilliant having access to this Adidas facility. Looks incredible and a great venue for pre season work and the team bonding together. Looks so much fun man. Amazing to see how much more Isak has opened up and is so into everything. Can see he's a bit of a psycho competitor!

He's the one that makes the most sense for a multitude of reasons, if we go big in that position.
  16. If he's decided to move on from Barca, with Yamal's emergence then this is probably the best move for our right wing. The Brazil connection with Bruno and Joe should be key, the prem experience playing in a high intensity side, his age profile is in line with Bruno's and Joelinton's too, which adds more experience and likely quickens our progression this upcoming season. The issue with this guy will be the wages he expects to receive.

I agree. Sane would look much better in a team like ours that plays more direct football that gets him in space more often. Tends to struggle at times playing more precise, technical football with the kind of players that have been around him at the likes of Man City and Bayern. At Newcastle it will also be less pressure and he'd be more appreciated as a top player than he has been at Bayern at Man City. Could see him do very well. His contract is up in 2025, which could mean the fee isn't crazy, which is good. However the wages he is on at Bayern will make your eyes bleed! Very likely a bid comes in from Saudi and he ends up going there.

Think you should throw your hat in the ring for the England job Pards. We're all behind you on that

I could see that. Likely just been putting out feelers, to get an idea of players availability and fees up till now. And so could have then made final decisions on who to prioritize this week.
  20. I have an inkling ten Hag might be looking to change the formation maybe? I'm not convinced, but we'll see I guess.
  21. How about you log off and go and have a shower and a shave you look an absolute state.
  22. Even if that is true. Considering your winger situation and lack of experience up top, I'm surprised that much has been spent on at best the 3rd choice entre back. Also, not sure I would want Maguire around and stewing because he's 4th choice, while trying to integrate the 18 year old kid that has taken his place, and who will be trying to settle into a new league and country. All seems a bit mad.
