Forest have done a decent amount of business in Brazil. Hope that counts for something with Wilson if we like any players over there. Still think that's a market we should be looking at more.

Nuno fell out with Edu.

Yeah, certainly how I see it. I don't think we're after someone that is going to come in and advise on what players to sign necessarily. Moreso just need an experienced deal maker that has relationships and contacts with agents etc to make deals much easier to do.

Pretty much because he apparently has Eddie's seal of approval really, and we really need someone that can slot into the current setup and work well with the people in place already. We really just need an experienced DOF that can navigate the agent world and already has contacts and relationships built up over the years. I just can't see the club continuing to make progress long term without someone settling into this role longer term, and so really good to see this sorted, with someone the manager is comfortable with. Has pretty much been my only concern with Howe, is finding the right person that he can work alongside in this role, because we have to have someone in there. Never really agreed with the view we could operate without one.

Park on the 3rd goal

How about Grimsby?

Hojlund has scored twice in the first half and assisted another. Patrick Dorgi has also scored one for Denmark too. Both playing in Amorim's 3-4-2-1 setup for Denmark, but under a different manager, obviously

Was what I thought straight away

Just because he did what you said, doesn't mean that's all he does, like you insinuated

He's just as dangerous going on the outside and cutting it back with his right

Brilliant play by Gordon in the build up.

Yeah, and we already have the evidence with his Bayern Munich saga. They made a pretty strong effort to sign him this summer, but were determined to force Stuttgart to accept less money, and would have been hoping that Woltemade kicked up a big stink to force the move, but he didn't go for it, even though he was obviously interested in joining them at the time. He was happy to stay at Stuttgart if Bayern couldn't agree a fee and was getting on with things there.

It was so bad man. Just non stop. Anyone that found it annoying just had to put up with it. And so seeing some of them have to squirm just a little bit now is incredibly enjoyable. Cathartic even!

Pep/Arteta/Maresca style of football often makes life difficult for wingers. They actively slow down play to pin teams back and so majority of the time go against low blocks as they rarely look to punish teams in transition even when it's on. Most of the wingers at Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal last season failed to have any sort of decent production. Only Saka out of the lot has looked a threat in those setups really. Most of the wingers we would have looked at to come in this summer came from teams that played in a more transition style, and so I'm not sure how we'd guarantee who would do well against low blocks. I really think we need to work on better patterns of play to attack teams that set up that way. Also didn't help that Hall and Tino were out, as their attacking movements are much more dynamic and dangerous than Burn and Trippier are capable of.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal have looked at Gordon. When you really dig into it there's not too many wingers that have been as productive as Gordon and Elanga over the past couple of seasons.

Doesn't have anything to do with being anti Howe. It's just a stylistic preference, which is fine. Mbeumo prior to scoring all those goals last season was often referred to as not being good enough on here. Even now you will find some Man Utd fans complaining about his end product. Last year most on here were down on Kudus. Any run of decent form and most of these guys get hyped up and any run of poor form and they get written off. Ekitike and Pedro are not players for the right wing. They are strikers that get involved in build up play. Woltemade was the alternative to those two.
-
Yeah, they aren't mutually exclusive. But ultimately, we've ended up with two wingers, one either side, for decent outlay, that you describe as "speed merchants". Clearly the manager values their attributes highly and believes they are good enough for his team, and doesn't think they are limited in what he wants from them. Seems to me he doesn't agree with you. I think a lot of people want to see a different type of winger in those positions and don't really like the approach to our play down the wings, which is fine. I just don't see Howe changing it though. I don't think it's an accident we've ended up with both Gordon and Elanga.
-
Then surely the evidence shows that this is what the manager wants and prioritises for his system As far as it putting a ceiling on what the team can achieve, I'd say it's going pretty well so far Think some of you just don't fancy Howe's style of football tbh. The guy loves his "speed merchants" down the wings and it works for him.

Nice interview after the game. Bruno at the start of it man

This is just copium from their end. They've been getting clowned mercilessly about Isak and Wirtz from all their rivals after losing three in a row and not looking that convincing so far season. We've got some very good players and so far only Isak has left, and it was down to a pretty unique situation with that contract promise and the changes with Mitchell coming in. They must be fuming the Isak situation has not got off to a flyer and in a weird way it's complicated things with Ekitike who had a great start, and meanwhile Woltemade is already scoring goals and getting such good reviews from even people outside of Newcastle. Very amusing situation so far.

Yeah, that's a big part of it, as the manager has said himself they currently don't really have any training time due to the game schedule. In the meantime, as there is going to have to be some rotation anyway, it would be good to match them up to games that are better suited to them both when possible of course.
