  1. The thing is; I'm OK with this. All the Swedes on this forum probably knows about an Ice Hockey team called Malmö. I am a fan! I have been in love since 1989-90. They were the best team in Sweden, even in Europe but then they went out of the Elite Series in Sweden. And they stayed out, and I still loved them and they almost went in to administration. And then they became known as the Babyhawks since they kicked out all of their Stars. And they did their best and drew Full Houses but stilo didn't manage to draw full houses, and I still love them. I don't know at all what this means, but I still love Newcastle and I always will, no matter what division!
  2. On the other hand Keegan might have wanted Lampard, Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney. FACT, they would have cost a hell of a lot more than relegation. Just enjoy this moment of apathy....or not. But on the other hand, next year is or year. No more overpaid cunts; Tayls and Jonas are stayin' and let's build around them. I LOVE NEWCASTLE UNITED! And fuck the rest!
  3. So, bricking it right now. So far, 6 broon ales down 18 to go so I should be OK (?). Howay the Toon!
  4. It'll probably be: Taylor Edgar Coloccini Enrique Which, IMO, would be better.
  5. I even made it with the correct dimensions

  7. He was our best defender last year and those of us who insisted it was a mistake to sell him have been proved utterly right. It's cost us £10m to replace him with a worse player. Everyone suddenly thought he was shit and should be sold purely on the basis that James McFadden tore him a new one at St Andrews. It's more a bad testament to our other CBs that he's considered a good player IMO.

  9. He's been a hell of a lott better for them this season than he were for us last season IMO. He had a crazy number of "Fouls Committed" last year but has cut down on that this year. Looked much more comfortable this year. I guess what I'm trying to say is that he really isn't such a good defender. He's a bruiser with a knack for kicking the shit out of people and occasionally getting the ball.
  10. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/may/19/newcastle-united-offer-mike-ashley The article is referring to two separate NBA owners. Could this be the mystery Mark Cuban-link coming up again?
  11. Actually what he´s good at is WINNING headers and actually connecting with the ball. He's not particularly good at directing said headers though, one of his few weaknesses. Doesn't seem to know where the fuck the ball's heading after his headers...
  12. It's already been said but it looked really good on the telly. So good in fact that even the Swedish commentator was ravin' about it.
  13. Canal+ will broadcast the game in Sweden at least. There's been an insane number of televised games featuring us this season. Off the top of my head there´s only been probably 5-6 games including the cup games that haven't been shown here. It's a pity we haven't performed better though...
  14. any idea when was the last time we won by 4 clear goals? infact when did we last win? Olympiakos at home 2004/2005 and West Brom february...
  15. We'll win 3-1. Early goal by MO and 2-0 in the first half by Dukes. Boro will come out all guns blazing in the second half scoring during the first 10-15 mins and then we'll get the third against the run of play. Probably through Carroll. No worries!
  16. We could do worse than taking a closer look at Preston's keeper Andrew Lonergan. The few times I've seen them this season he's been great. He looks like he's a real commanding keeper...
  17. So, Luton's playing tonight as well?
  18. Preston 1-0 up against Sheffield Utd
  19. I don't think they're that far off being a great side again. They need another top class centre back to partner Toure - the loss of Gallas and the feuding that has surrounded him has been a real blow. I also think they need a better striker. Adebayor and Van Persie are good players but I don't think they'll take them from the top four to the top two, which is what they're aiming for. Apart from that, I don't think there's much wrong. Fourth place and a Champions League semi is a good platform to build on. yeah, but if he goes out in the summer and buys another striker/winger/14 year old as he's done in the last couple of windows they'll not improve much and you have to ask how long should they carry on with that? depends what they're in it for, if it's to build a team to be successful then let him keep at it, but if they want success in the very near future beyond an FA cup then forget it - man u, chelsea & liverpool are striking the right balance, arsenal are not On the other hand there´s the small matter of one Andrei Arshavin, which at least gives them the extra edge needed in forward positions. All-in-all they're probably one CB and another striker short of assembling quite a stunning team... Erm, they also need a couple of bastard midfielders in the mold of Vieira and Petit. The midfielders they have now pale in comparison to those two, and even to the Ray Parlour of the later years. he needs to take a long, hard look at barca for what to do - similarities are obvious I'd agree with that.

  21. Match would last hours on end. no it wouldn't and it would make any time wasting pointless. it would, go to an ice hockey match, a 20min period lasts a long long time sky used to do a stat of how long the ball was actually in play and it was usually about an hour then if you take out the actual time wasting. the problem at ice hocky (yes i've been) is that it takes so long to restart. A normal ice hockey game takes somewhere around 2 hours 10-15 mins. That's including 3x20 mins periods and two 17 mins breaks. So not to bad actually. At least here in Sweden where we actually get to watch some good games.
  22. That's one of the bad things about living in Sweden, especially in a town like this where ice hockey is the King of sports. At least I'll be able to grab me a six-pack of Brown Ale on my way home from work. and then nip out for more at half time ? Nah man, you can't buy alcohol after 7 pm (6 in most places even) in Sweden unless you're at a bar. Exactly...that's why I'll have to grab the whole case at once So, where in Sweden are you at Towelie? Stockholm, you? Karlstad, hence the Ice Hockey craze...
