Before the Cardiff game, Carroll hadn't scored a league goal since the start of November, he's been poor.

Jayson doesn't half make me laugh at times. We've conceded 9 out of our 20 goals in the few games that Coloccini's been absent, it's pretty fucking obvious how much we miss him when he doesn't play.

It definitely matters who is in our back four. We had a settled, quality back four and noone was scoring against us. When Taylor got injured earlier in the season we patched up the defence and dropped points to QPR and Forest. He's got injured again and we're dropping points again. Taylor played against QPR. Colo played with Williamson twice and we kept two comfortable clean sheets. It's pretty obvious we suffer most when both are out, but it's Coloccini that really holds that defence together.

When Enrique and Colo come back, we'll stop conceding goals, but that's not the real problem here. Leon Best is unproven and i'm willing to give him a chance, but what in god's name is going on when we're aspiring to be a premiership team come May and we're starting him and Andy Carroll? Lovenkrands and Shola have proved they're our best bets for goals, what the hell are they doing on the bench?

The one change a few would have made, as you say. Doubt it would have had a HUGE baring on the result though. You all know what I think about Carroll's constant inclusion. It hurts us, time and time again.

I'd have personally played Lovenkrands as would many. Our withdrawn and static attack invites teams to push right up the pitch and get at us. It needs to change.

They're top because they're better than us. Don't blame referees, blame our inability to beat teams when we have them on the rack and our inability to go away and perform. Something like 6 pens in their last 9 games. Then the decisions we've had against us. We're complete opposites in luck currently. Im sure if we were getting endless pens we'd do better away from home also. To get pens you need players with pace and a degree of skill.
