  1. To say we'll have to 'defend like we've never fucking defended before' is a tad OTT in my opinion. Terry and Ferdinand are probably the best two CB's in the world on form and Ashley Cole is without doubt the best LB. Would be nice if Gerrard brokes Torres' leg in training.
  2. The problem however isn't just Xavi and Iniesta. Villa and Torres for example could punish a tiny error. They're such a slick, well-oiled machine, and I think are too good to be simply outmuscled, outpowered, or whatever word you want to use. We'll need to take our chance against them and defend like we've never f***ing defended before. We kept 4 clean sheets out of 5 in 2006 didn't we? I have every confidence we'll defend well again.
  3. I prefer to remember him when Beardsley was in.
  4. Nah, we'll beat Spain if we perform like we should. I can't really see where they'll hurt us. Xavi and Iniesta won't know what's f***ing hit them against two proper english midfielders. And as for that defence, raped.
  5. Beardsley was the type of player who could make any team look good going forward.
  6. It was more than that I think, although it may have just seemed longer.
  7. No, completely different types of player.
  8. More or less, Pedro's days were coming to end when Shearer arrived though. Rolled back the years with that peformance against Boro at home though, with Shearer (and Ferdinand?) out.
  9. Get the best out of Rooney and Lampard and you've guarenteed a place in the last 4, in my opinion.
  10. Howey was a very good player when you got him on the pitch. The defenders are about right.
  11. Higuain is absolutely fantastic, love watching him play.
  12. As I said yesterday, Walcott won't thrive in a team that gradually get their players up the pitch as Arsenal do. He's a player that would look far more useful in a different setup.
  13. My point being, 3 years ago he was on the decline and it's continued. Agbonlahor is a very good player who is a couple of years away from being great. Walcott is a good player who's a very good option if we need some penetration heading into extra time.
  14. Which comment was that? But in truth, he wasn't even starting for a lot of that season. Great players don't sign for LA Galaxy.
  15. Is that seriously all anyone has since 2007, a positive comment from his own manager in the run up to a title showdown?
  16. Thats a point. Maybe before I was born was as well, cos my Dad was a season ticket holder.
  17. In truth this is the same for me. Got taken to the Grimsby game and the whole experience was somewhere between confusing and surreal. My first premiership game was the 1-1 against Blackburn which got me completely hooked.
