Lack of knowledge? Come on mate, you've admitted that you haven't seen many of our games this season. And how much of Nobby have you seen recently? I'm finding it increasing difficult to believe that you haven't just woke up from a coma you entered in 2003.
-
I see where you're all coming from lads, I love the bloke too. You're all going to be dissapointed if you're expecting a substancial contribution from him though. I just hope we don't see what i'm expecting, a complete shell of one our best players of the last 15 years.
-
It's not a question of maintaining anything, you speak like he left the premier league last week.
-
IMO he's retained the same amount of fitness and ability as Beckham, who still applies his trade at one of the biggest clubs in the world. Let me guess "that's different"? Why did West Ham let him go for basically nowt then, as we did, and Villa before that and us before that? In fairness, when we let him go in the past, it was down to a fall out with Sir Bobby the first time (over the playing for Peru thing), and the 2nd time, he wanted to move south for 'Family Reasons'. Niether case seemed to be due to his ability at the time(s). Can't comment on the reasons for being aloowed to leave West Ham, or his last 2 clubs (in Greece and Peru respectively). Basically the same points i've just made. Although, they will be ignored. f***ing hell. None of that explains why the clubs have let him go for peanuts, does it?
-
Honestly. Personally I think it's blatantly obvious to anyone who has watched the pair of them in the last 5 years that Nobby has nowhere near the ability and fitness levels of Beckham, which is why he's at Milan and Nobby cant get a contract at Colchester Utd.

Howay then, I'll bite. How do you know that? I'm not going to get into this again because I love Nobby and it's only natural that a footballing ability of his calibre will deteriorate at a certain age. At West Ham and in the few games i've seen him play for Peru in the last year suggest strongly that his delivery isn't nearly as effective as it was in his last 2 years with us. The lad on here who watches the Peruvian league regularly (not Mick, he's daft) will probably concur with this.

That one is obvious, but tbh i'd easily rather have Guthrie, Barton, R Taylor or even Geremi there ahead of Pancrate. Nolan's legs have gone, but not to the degree Solano's have man. Nolan is an intelligent player with a cracking finish on him, which is why we can almost overlook his lack of stamina.
-
Guthrie has the engine to get into those positions though, it's extremely ignorant to assume that just because he has the delivery, (it's not nearly as good as it was btw) he'll be able to use it.
-
Rooney and Lampard are easily techinically brilliant. The only thing holding Rooney back is his unintelligent movement off the ball.
-
On the other hand, players like Rooney, Beckham and Lampard are technically brilliant.
-
Beckford and Shearer.
-
Gerrard's long passing can be fantastic but he plays so high up the pitch these days (and without natural wingers in the team) we don't get to see it very often. I remember that fantastic ball to Owen in the final game of 03-04 against us. I agree that Lampard and Fabregas are better players though.

Fancy posting it a third time BL?
-
I'm sure comparisons with Messi are all a humble lad like N'zogbia needs to take his game to the next level.
-
Nobby's legs started going 7 years ago. You can forgive them for seeing past the romanticism and viewing this for what it most likely is, a pathetic attempt to appease the fans in the wake of failure to land our targets.
-
I don't know how anyone could say he has a limited game, he does pretty much everything well.
-
Butt has played half our games man. Seriously, just stop it. Butt has started 8 of the 24 league games we have played so far. He's played in 15 games in total, and not many have been 10 minute cameo appearances. My point being, it us unfair to judge Guthrie on the fact he isn't being picked, we all know he's a better option than Butt, he's just an easy target for Hughton to drop and appease the senior players.
-
He's terrible, but better than Butt. Night all.
-
I'm saying that Butt is one of the biggest reasons we're in the championship right now, the opposition are effectively a man up with him on the pitch.
-
Of course he is man. We've had one good season since we signed him and that was the season he was on loan at Birmingham - who got relegated the same season. Smith's a poor player but Butt is a constant and absolute liability, he has no place playing professional football anymore.
-
Butt has played far too often this season, the guy's nowhere near up to it anymore.
-
Fuckers? He's proved his tactical ineptitude throughout the season and cowered from dropping big players. We have no hope with him in the premiership.

Yep.
