  1. I didn't think he looked committed all season to be honest. Not compared to how he'd looked in the two preceeding seasons anyway. You're certainly not the only one who thinks this. The fact is, before his injury he'd managed 6 goals in 12 games. If that represents a lack of effort it also represents some fucking ability, especially in our team

    RIP sale thread.

What are we, the 20th largest city in Britain? Hardly one of the largest
  3. I am by no means saying that Martins is a brilliant footballer or that he didn't underperform badly in the final 2 months of the season. However, it baffles me that so few on this board aren't willing to acknowledge the fact that with his injury, he shouldn't really have been on the pitch under Shearer. The fact is, he played through the pain, played poorly and gets accused of a lack of effort, it's laughable.
  4. Ronaldo

    RIP sale thread.

    never took them seriously anyway
  5. What would most us do if we were promoted within our jobs to a position which we were unfamiliar with? I know what i'd do, I would act as if I were an experienced veteran and pick it up as I go along, eventually making a bloody good fist of it. Hughton has just lay down from day one man, he's a spineless w***** and deserves no sympathy.
  6. If this is the best Hughton can do he really should be ashamed of himself, it's one thing being tactically clueless, but showing no bollocks whatsoever like he's done makes me despise the man. The last thing this group of twats needs is a spineless tosser in charge, he needs to stand up and give them a slap, not come out with nonsense like 'Nicky Butt is a fabulous player' ffs
  7. i still get shudders at the mere mention of his name. when exactly did he leave? i always used to have visions of him returning jason voorhees style I reckon his last game was at Selhurst Park in the 4-2 we suffered to Kinnears Wimbledon team, who had Warren Barton playing for them.It was Ruel Fox's debut for us iirc.Could be wrong though... His last apperance was the 3-3 against Spurs during 94-95 when Pav got sent off and Klinsman played a blinder, till Hooper came on and basically looked like Schmeichal, saving a pen with his foot at the Leazes end! Pedro made it 3-3 late on
  8. i still get shudders at the mere mention of his name. when exactly did he leave? i always used to have visions of him returning jason voorhees style He was told to bugger off at the start of pre-season 95-96 for showing up well out of shape, contract terminated in 96 I think, good bloke, spoke to him for a long while a few years back
  9. It happened in Meresyside, so their County/Crown Court will deal with it, nothing sinister about it. Not necessarily when there's a clear conflict of interest concerning any potential jury. too right
  10. Is it wrong that Colo has gone up slightly in my estimation? He's clearly taken the 'be more aggressive' advice anyway
  11. The number 30 should have been retired when Hooper left
  12. Took me till midnight UK time to find out the score for this one, 2 hours of frustration. Just heard from a pal that Coloccini punhced someone, didn't think he had it in him
  13. this made me laugh, amazed it hasn't happened before tbh

    RIP sale thread.

It was Louise's access to keegan which allowed her ITK status, she doesn't have owt like that this year, presumebly
  15. Positive news, I envisoned a lot of players being sold by August and then missing out on a few original targets because of the delay
  16. they dare to offer the Coca Cola badge

    Drogba ban reduced

It should never have been 4 games (1 suspended) in the first place. Football involves emotion, you cannot expect men to act like robots when they've just been unfairly deprived of a place in the champions league final. I wish we had players who want to win as much as Drogba does, his other antics aside

    Butt's Turn!

Shola will struggle to get 10 in the championship
  19. Stevie Gerrard is better tbh, more complete player. that's what I used to think Me too. Lampard was the best player in the league last season imo. No contest. absolutely
  20. Stevie Gerrard is better tbh, more complete player. that's what I used to think
  21. which is why he's the best player in the premiership as things stand
  22. Lamapard created 44 more chances than anyone else
  23. Having watched Delph at Elland Road a few times last season, I absolutely cannot believe someone would pay £7m for him
