  1. ro be fair Xisco has started 3 and scored 1. I could name 20 strikers in the league who make him look like Van Nistelrooy
  2. Lampard and Drogba are on a different level, how Lampard didn't get a PFA nomination is beyond me
  3. yes they did http://g.imagehost.org/0981/villa.jpg ?? the shirts they were set to wear clashed too badly with those of West Ham, the ones they worse were a late substitue, so to speak
  4. has to be tbh, how the fuck did I forget him
  5. but better than Duff and Jonas? probably
  6. Villa let me down for £230 forced me to place £40 on Barca, Real, Man U and Gers for a return of £250
  7. manager has to be Paul Ince or Addams surely
  8. toss up between Gomes and Carson tbh, both as shit as each other, Gomes belongs in a circus, all acrobatics, horrible horrible keeper
  9. tossers the lot of em tbh. Have it on pretty good authority that at a talk in in Blackburn last week Big Sam said that he hoped 'Shearer falls flat on his face' c***

    Crosses

I have to say, if we had a good crosser in the team i'd be a lot more confident of Owen getting a few, not that i think he'd excel. Very good in the air for his size
  11. Harps Beye Colo Bassong S Taylor Jonas Guthrie Duff Owen Carroll Martins I wish, not a chance in the hell though
  12. Drogba is absolutely unstoppable in that form, still one of the first names in my word Xl
  13. Viduka is streets ahead of both Martins and Owen when it comes placement imo. Fantastic finisher
  14. Roeder has to get an awful lot of credit for getting us to 7th in 05/06. Won 10 out of 15 games or something like that, took over when we 16th. Not a good manager but no worse than Souness, who'd put put stroking his own ego before us progressing every single time
  15. now that you mention it I did manage to find it on tap in Miami in september
  16. Between 1997 and 2000, was someone like Dion Dublin better than Alan Shearer just because 1997/8 for Shearer was basically a write-off due to injury, while Dublin consistently got 15-20 a season for Villa & Coventry? my orignal post was referring to the injury records of both Owen and Martins, which are not comparable at all. Maybe you missed the point This season though, it is. In fact, Martins' has been worse...which is somewhat important, you know, when you have 6 games left to save your status in the Premiership. If he's fit, he starts as far as I'm concerned, it's a non-issue that some are trying to make into one. With Owen, for me there is genuine worry that his presence in the starting 11 will take us down. There has been nothing in his last few games to suggest he'll help keep us up Last day of the season against Villa, last kick of the game and one of our strikers* is one on one with their 'keeper. They score we win the game and stay up, we draw we go down. Who would you have taking the shot? *Nile Ranger not included Viduka is our best finisher by some distance tbh. Shame he has the mobility of a table and four chairs
  17. was Shola booed off on Sat? was in a Leeds pub with no sound
  18. You'd put Taylor up against Lennon? What on earth are you sniffing? Taylor will do a job against Lennon at full-back imo. Bully, upset him and don't give him an inch and he's out of the game, we saw that at SJP against Jose.

  20. Nah it's popular everywhere. In recent years, it's become very trendy among average young professionals everywhere to say that Newcastle is their favorite beer (classy, tasteful, not too cheap, but not too obscure, expensive or weird). After saying all that...it's my favorite beer too. that's amazing that is, means I wont have to drink piss like Bud when I travel round the place. I remember being in awe the first time I went to NY a couple of years back that literally every other pub had it on tap

  22. I thought Broon Ale was only popular in New York, looks like I was wrong
  23. yes but the 'last 2 seasons' represents a somewhat window dressing approach to Owen's record, doesn't it mate While only mentioning the last 12 games just to suit your own arguments is perfectly acceptable. 13 games, and in that instance I was refering to FORM which is somewhat important, you know when you have 6 games left to save your status in the premiership
  24. yes, unquestionably, and if you extend in to 9 years it proves Ameobi's a better goalscorer. or if you extend it to 3, the Martins - Owen arguement looks somewhat redundant
