  1. "(Bassong) will be back and will be paired with Habib Beye or David Edgar in the centre of defence if Taylor is not fit enough to play" my fucking word
  2. Jesus christ. One of the most ridiculous posts I've ever read on on this forum. Well done. Coloccini makes 2 glaring errors, yet it's all Duff's fault for playing it simple. I feel sorry for the kids you manage. I already said that Colo made dreadfull errors, but the ball was safe out on the touchline, and instead was hooked into the top of the Penalty area. One bounce (and a poor touch) and the Anelka was all over Colo. If you think "playing it simple" means putting the ball into a dangerous area in such a way that it requires a one-time hoofing clearance than I'm glad you're not coaching my kids. That's an even dumber a statement than you think mine was. The way the ball came in to Colo (in hindsite) he should have hoofed it out of there, instead took a touch, bobbled it and then was in deep ****. I expect more from both players.....better control and touch from Colocini and not passing the ball into dangerous places. It's hard to disagree with some of what was said there, Duff could clearly see that Anelka was running at Colo before he even passed the ball, so it was stupid to play it back. It's a shame really because he'd been having a very good game before the mistake and it would have been interesting to see people's reactions had he not done it. He in general plays a lot better without Bassong, it's just a little too late atm because he's lost so much confidence. what on earth are you talking about?
  3. a very strong, agressive striker exerting constant pressure in the box, excellent with his back to goal
  4. if i say he's not a battering ram will you disagree with that too? Why is he a battering ram? Drogba is a battering ram type, albeit with a lot more to his game, Heskey, Carew, a latter day Shearer, Shefki Kuqi if you want to bring it down a few levels why on earth would you consider Carroll a battering ram?
  5. Keegan played Faye and Taylor together. The reason he left was for refusing to do something under Keegan (travel, train or play, I can't remember). Faye was always going to be the one losing out once Coloccini was brought in
  6. probably not helped by the fact he was considered behind Steven Taylor in the pecking order

    Ryan Taylor/Nolan

and he clearly doesn't, stop making yourself look daft
  8. that can easily be addressed and you both know it. Anyone can build strength he needs to be more agressive yes, but that can develop with time
  9. He's looked fast as fuck off the mark to me like, shame there's not much else to him
  10. Zaki could do well with the right partner and midfield behind him would absolutely love it if we went back in for M'Bia in the summer
  11. Did Asprilla ever manage an average of better than 1 goal in 3?

did you watch the WBA game or just the highlights on MOTD? He didn't even look that good then
  13. 7-1 was awesome. yes, as was the music the official 92-93 video elected to dub over the highlights great day, my first ever home game
  14. fair play pal I was 2 months shy of my 7th birthday in May 1993 when Keegan got us promoted, it was a special time for all involved and obviously nothing that younger or foreign forum members can relate to, as good a Feyenoord (a) and the 5-0 against Man U were. Not holding against anyone, it just shows pretty clearly, with some of the attitudes towards Keegan on this board.
  15. SBR's accomplisments here don't even compare to Keegan's tbh. So you are saying that you know s*** all about Keegan too? Or are you the minority as you are young but appreciate him. I personally don't feel geography or age should dictate the ability to discuss football or grasp an understanding, some of the oldest locals on here can talk the most crap at times. Its also quite patronizing to those saying you'll never understand. There are those that judge Keegan subjectively believing past works excuse him from this season, and those who judge him objectively, and believe that you are judged on now not then. In a way their method can be perceived as better, as it does not have any rose tinted elements to it. How much slack does Shearer get because of what he did? don't know where you got the figure 18 from, but it's patronising as fuck and a pathetic arguement
  16. The only cringeworthy thing I see here is the narrow minded xenophobia of certain members. Don't like non-Geordies supporting the club? Well then you'd best f*** off from an internet forum where nearly 50% of the members are foreign. After 8 months I'm perfectly capable of ignoring the usual rubbish about Keegan being to blame etc, cheers and I never implied anything of the sort btw
  17. Taylor and Duff are horrific cheats they've fooled Bobby anyway

    Ryan Taylor/Nolan

Duff Butt Nolan Taylor is the stuff of nightmares tbh, and probably the midfield we'd be treated to under Kinnear, even with no injuries whatsoever
  19. got to concur with HTT to an extent, the majority of foreigners and younger members on this board demonstrate a somewhat cringeworthy understanding of Keegan and what he means to the area and the club
  20. Still glad MON didnt put more weight in the UEFA? Yes. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, though, isn't it? He had a difficult decision and he made the right one. It didn't work out the way he hoped it would do, but I think he made the right call at the time. I thought we were very good today, but we need to f***ing shut up shop and defend a lead at times. you defended the right way imo, from the front. You defend deep and Man U will kill you man. They had to play through you today and tbf manged it, because of their absolute brilliance. The only way they were going to score two past you in the second half was by scoring two fantastic goals

As I said at the time, we didn't make our squad better in January and teams like Portsmouth and Stoke did we're paying for it big time. £8M net profit, in 6 years time we'll still be reading about that, just like we are now about the summer of 03 and Bowyer cunts
