  1. Starting Owen isn't fair enough though, his form before injury was fucking shit and cant be expected to be any better returning from injury. Lovenkrands has earned the shirt, and has lost it based on this fucking myth that Michael Owen is some sort of great footballer. Fucking pathetic the lot of em
  2. you forgetting all the points he's cost us this season
  3. Or somewhere in between? Taylor made his full league debut in 2005 at the tender age of 19. Since when hes had the opportunity to learn his trade by partnering Boumsong, Bramble, Moore, Onyewu, Rozenthal and Cacapa. Hes also been regularly played out of position, and under at least five managers with differing approaches to the game. Its no surprise his decision making hasnt improved. Taylor has all the attributes of a top centre half, except composure. He tries too hard, unlike Bassong who just concentrates on the basics and looks all the better for it. Unfortunately for Taylor the senior pros at the club dont show any real leadership, and he feels compelled to step into the breach. Probably because he actually cares about what happens to NUFC. Taylor has suffered because far too much has been asked of him. Bassong was utter garbage at left back, which is why he hasnt been asked to play their again. Taylor on the other hand makes a decent stab at playing out of position so gets asked to sacrifice his own development for the good of the team time and time again. Taylor gets a lot of unwarranted flack. Hes a good player with the right attitude, whod blossom at a stable club. If NUFC is to a future we need hang on to players like Steven Taylor. Without wishing to sound harsh, that's a load of rubbish. No it's not. What are "all the attributes" that Taylor has to be a top centre half? Bassong being "utter garbage" at left back is a laugh as well. Him not playing there since probably has more to do with the fact that he's the best centre half at the club by a country mile and the best left back being fit. I can tell you the attributes he's missing. Pace, power, anticipation, positioning, the ability to head the ball where you want it to go, good distribution, the ability to have the respect of your fellow team mates and good distribution skills. He's canny at shirking responsibility though and pointing. I'll give him that. Your getting him mixed up with Collocini. No I think I know who I'm talking about thank you. but no idea what youre talking about. Excellent. Still waiting for these attributes btw. Tooj why do you even bother? Those of us with brains all know he's a bad defender
  4. I dont care if he spends 90 minutes deciding whether to bum Martins or Jonas, so long as Shola Ameobi is nowhere near the pitch
  5. So spineless it's incredible
  6. We'd be better off giving Venables the two and a half year contract that Kinnear's been offered. too right, tell him he can bring in his own coaching team, get rid of the 3 tossers currently in charge
  7. i'd wake up on the morning of an away game thinking 'hmm, we might just get a win today' lots of new ground to go to, i'd actually make a real effort to get to every away game next season.
  8. know exactly what you mean and have been saying this for 4 years. However, to think we'd be a league below the mackems
  9. they've got his age wrong tbh, his wealth too no doubt
  10. the masses are rapidly rallying around offering support to Ashley's running of the club in massive numbers now. Xisco ? Lovenkrands ? A new contract for Ameobi ? Ryan Taylor ? Blows the mind away. Lovenkrands already has two goals and seems decent, he was never bought to be first choice though. Xisco is a Spain U21 international and hasn't really been given a chance this season. Ryan Taylor, too soon to comment. Ameobi? Can't argue there, rubbish. they are all second rate at best I'm afraid. None is a patch on Michael Owen. Keep thinking such 2nd rate players are good signings, bringing about the decrease in gates as a sign that the new regime knows what it is doing if you wish. One day we might have someone running the club who knows how to get the ground full again. Soon, hopefully. did you see Xisco for Deportivo at all?
  11. because it interferes with attendance revenues and it's naughty
  12. Hull wont finsh mid-table though, 14th at best
  13. we're not even 3 points above the relegation zone mate, things clearly couldn't have gone much worse this season
  14. Cole by all accounts was as thick as pork mince off the pitch, yet on it he had an incredible instinct of where to be and when
  15. you're joking? I dont remember that. I DO remember Oliver saying Sven wanted him in the England team though  http://arsenal-mania.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=19157&p=440509 PS - worst laughing smiley ever. the smiley is modeled on Lee Dixon
  16. you're joking? I dont remember that. I DO remember Oliver saying Sven wanted him in the England team though
  17. How about we invent a new game. We could call it 'the next time Taylor makes a mistake that leads to a goal he must take a shot of unleaded petrol'
  18. you can pretty much guarentee we'll be fed shit like this from him for the next 6 fucking seasons
  19. Chelsea - Man U final, come on Chelsea!
  20. the fact is, he took easy swipes the easy targets (Enrique, Xisco) whilst Duff, Ameobi and Butt were bigged up to ridiculous extremes, especially the latter two. He's the archetypal weak, insecure old tosspiece
  21. 1. That's a load of s***. 2. That's a load of absolute s***. This "Martins only scores screamers and hardly any of them" business is particularly tiresome. He scores tap-ins, he scores headers, he scores typical centre forward's goals and yes, he scores the odd brilliant long ranger. It's almost as if that goal at Spurs has gone down on his record as a bad thing - only at NUFC. Not saying he doesn't score simple goals, he just doesn't do it enough if he wants to be considered a top class striker. His ability in front of goal isn't one of his main problems - his lack of pace and a footballing brain are. Anyone who say's he is our best striker needs their head seeing to. Owen is world class and we'll not see his ilk at this club in a long time. you're an absolute fucking joke, do you know that? What makes Owen world class btw? his lack of pace, genuine skill, strength, a left foot?
  22. Martins can look good without Owen Owen is incapable of looking good without Martins
