i'd love that

knew exactly what you were getting at when I saw the thread title. I'd gamble a couple of million for him tbh. He can really put his foot on the ball, asside from owt else

it amazes me that John Harton's face isn't censored from TV

christ that was horrible, fair play to West Brom for battling. No chance they'll survive in a million years though

Xisco joins Deportivo on loan until the end of the season

£2 on W Ham to win 3-0 at 12/1

Alves would probably excel with a player or two behind him who could really play a ball

The only reason I might disagree with that is because Nolan is more apt to score goals that Guthrie is. Nolan isn't the goal scoring threat he once was tbh. Guthrie will get better and better. I'd hate his development to be stunted to preserve the place of a no frills, stopgap midfielder like Nolan
-
Ah ok, we should never play him then, on that basis. Just incase he doesn't score. That's where substitutions come in. Unfortunately the cretin put Shola on instead of Lovenkrands. what I meant was, there are players out there that will make positive contributions throughout the game even if their sharpness and fitness is below par. Owen certainly isn't one of them and secondly, Owen should NEVER ever be an automatic choice if availble, like he clearly is at NUFC. He isn't a superstar and he isn't a great player that should be selected regardless of the situation

clearly wouldn't be anything approaching alright

5th when Hughton comes on 6th when Hughton registers with a different account
-
Barton should replace Nolan not Guthrie

Thank God Keegan didn't have that opinion last season else we might not be talking about relegation this season, because we might have done it a year earlier instead. things have changed Exactly. Owen's goals to games ratio is even better this season. with 1 in the last 9, yeah he's clearly found a new lease of life

you'd 'love' to see a team which would effectively revolve around Andy Caroll? yeah, genius
-
which idiot has voted yes?

come on, half the teams in the league are shite and at least 7 worse than ours on paper. We've been absolutely woeful in those 20 games, the stats dont adequately do justice how bad he's actually been.

This, they should torture the fucker who killed him to death.

The article is hard to take seriously, i want a good manager and some stability and ambition from the guys in charge but 3 main parts of that letter that bugged me. 1st bold bit - he hasn't had many games, absolute crap team. Captain won't sign a contract all the players pretty much want out. He hasn't had a full season in charge, but im sure this person expects the likes of Coloccini to be given a full season rather than be judged over 15-20 games. 2) Is just point scoring, and a bit of a piss take. 3) If they did that and say brought in Paul Ince (before blackburn) and he failed would you be behind the appointment, when he is sacked. or in hindsight would people believe 'should never have appointed a young manager, need some experienced here'. The fact that Kinnear is statisctically the 2nd worst in 107 years is very significant tbh. He has absolutely no excuse for that because you cannot honestly tell me that we've not had worse teams than the current one

Heskey impotent?

Or somewhere in between? Taylor made his full league debut in 2005 at the tender age of 19. Since when he’s had the opportunity to learn his trade by partnering Boumsong, Bramble, Moore, Onyewu, Rozenthal and Cacapa. He’s also been regularly played out of position, and under at least five managers with differing approaches to the game. It’s no surprise his decision making hasn‘t improved. Taylor has all the attributes of a top centre half, except composure. He tries too hard, unlike Bassong who just concentrates on the basics and looks all the better for it. Unfortunately for Taylor the senior pros at the club don’t show any real leadership, and he feels compelled to step into the breach. Probably because he actually cares about what happens to NUFC. Taylor has suffered because far too much has been asked of him. Bassong was utter garbage at left back, which is why he hasn’t been asked to play their again. Taylor on the other hand makes a decent stab at playing out of position so gets asked to sacrifice his own development for the good of the team time and time again. Taylor gets a lot of unwarranted flack. He’s a good player with the right attitude, who‘d blossom at a stable club. If NUFC is to a future we need hang on to players like Steven Taylor. Without wishing to sound harsh, that's a load of rubbish. No it's not. What are "all the attributes" that Taylor has to be a top centre half? Bassong being "utter garbage" at left back is a laugh as well. Him not playing there since probably has more to do with the fact that he's the best centre half at the club by a country mile and the best left back being fit. I can tell you the attributes he's missing. Pace, power, anticipation, positioning, the ability to head the ball where you want it to go, good distribution, the ability to have the respect of your fellow team mates and good distribution skills. He's canny at shirking responsibility though and pointing. I'll give him that. Your getting him mixed up with Collocini. No I think I know who I'm talking about thank you. but no idea what you’re talking about. Excellent. Still waiting for these attributes btw. I didn’t see the point as you‘d obviously disagree and there’s no easy way of proving who’s right… but if it helps ST is a good all rounder. He’s good in the air. He’s strong. He’s mobile. He can tackle. He’s got a decent first touch. His passing is more than adequate for a centre half. He doesn’t panic in possession. He doesn’t turn his back on shots (like Collocini) and he has a good attitude. And he chips in with a few goals. he isn't mobile and his tackling is average at absolute best. His passing is shocking man, honestly and a 'good all rounder' doesn't have any glaring weaknesses, which Taylor clearly does
-
btw, I find it ridiculous to the point of being funny that you consider Lovenkrands to have poaching instincts based on 2 goals

Milner's crossing was very poor here. Especially in his last full season
