  1. I don't think the though too much of Beckham's attitude, mind. It's been a while since I read the book but I think he said something about Beckham being the only player he managed long-term who wanted to be famous more than he wanted to be a great footballer.
  2. He would probably think a lot better of him if he signed the contracts they were offering him. The boy ran down his contract purposely, so he could leave for a paltry fee and was worth an eight figure fee in less than one year. It is a bit ridiculous to act as though Manchester United never let go of players that could have helped Newcastle United at a point in time. Even the likes of Diouf, Tosic, Simpson, Shawcross, etc. could have contributed at this club. He generally made the moves that were best for Manchester United, but it is a huge club and so much talent comes and goes. Smith, Butt, and Obertan are just poor chocies. The first two were immediately regrettable investments on players who were not the same physically after years of injuries and playing at the top level. Obertan was an acceptable risk to take who simply hasn't worked out and only racks up appearances at NUFC because there has not been proper recruitment to replace him. Ryan Shawcross fucking moonwalks into the current Man U defence.
  3. Ferguson talks about it in his autobiography. Doesn't think too much of Pogba as a person.
  4. Well, no. The fact he has one useful attribute alone makes him better than Alan Smith.
  5. Mate, that sounds like an addiction to me. Be careful.
  6. Must be why he's playing for a mid-table Championship side at 26. I think it's probably a case of either/or with Perez and de Jong, too.
  7. Yeah. He was evidently a good footballer/defender but a physically inferior CB who was past his best physically. Bad combination for the PL, but he had a lot of good games for us.
  8. Wasn't worse than Boumsong, Williamson or Rozenhal.
  9. I'd love someone to explain to me what on earth it takes to win that award.

Kanye's a bit of a dwarf, is he not?
  11. I remember a fair few of our lot running onto the pitch when Carroll brought the score back to 2-2 against Bristol City. That was pretty fucking embarrassing.
  12. Villa have scored 5 goals in 4 games under Sherwood. Incredible stuff.

    Emmanuel Rivière

Based on scoring 13 goals in a season in the French league? No.

Best looked really good for goals until he was warned that his first priority was supporting Demba B. Demba looked absolutely brilliant with Best doing the donkey work in front of him.
  15. Willo was fine against Lukaku in the away fixture last season. It was before he came on that the damage was done.

    Papiss Cissé

I'm in favour of lengthy bans for spitting but this isn't a typical spitting incident. Far from it, in fact. It wasn't Cisse who introduced spitting into the confrontation, for one. Two, he's acting under extreme duress when he spits.
  17. Mmm. Raylor had Di Maria in his back pocket though, was one of our better performers on the night. http://gifrific.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Blackadder-Confused-Look.gif
  18. Yep. With de Jong out it's the only answer, really.

I keep trying but all I hear is Paul Gascogine's voice with extra emphasis on the early vowel.

    Papiss Cissé

It's another stupid rule simply due to its inflexibility. There's spitting in someone's face from a yard away unprovoked and there's what Cisse did in the heat of a strained momement under duress last night.
  21. I agree with that, but his kicking is epidemically poor and for some reason it never improves.
  22. Poor Cacapa. Perfect example of why being a good defender/footballer is pointless at CB in this league if you're not physically up to it.
