Nobody said it was, but they played at a higher pace of football when needed. Most notably when Liverpool needed it against Milan. Never mentioned Chelsea, either. But the one time they won it they weren't really playing pragmatic stuff.
-
And Mourinho couldn't be out-cunted by Peter Sutcliffe.
-
The way your lot are going forward recently compounded with the way City have defended all season suggests you should just have a bit of a laugh at the whole thing.
-
Liverpool and Chelsea both got far in Europe on the back of playing desparately pragmatic stuff. Arsenal got to the final in 2006 by winning 2 legged ties 1-0 on aggregate. Your argument only really works in favour of Man Utd imo, where Fergie really struck the balance well in his latter years. Don't kid yourself, Liverpool turned it up when they needed to under Rafa. Same with Arsenal in 2006. Our teams don't have that Premier League 6th gear to shift up into now.

Cabaye's nickname should be 'the Chihuahua'.

Thing is, English sides used to do so well in the CL because they played a higher pace than teams of often superior technical quality. That's completely gone, now. The coaches in charge of the top 4 - except Pellegrini with his shit defence - all promote a slower more patient pragmatic approach.

What did he say? The shenanigans from the start are embarrassing. Chelsea should be better than trying to nick a win against 10 men at home. Didn't like Mou's mind-games about PSG being aggressive. Called PSG a proper side - great technique throughout. My own comments - PSG looked the better coach side. Ta.

What did he say?

I was hoping we had no posters shit enough to come out with that then.

Fair play. Mourinho can't even succeed by paying refs off these days.
-
Pissed on virtually every right-back? What a load of nonsense that is. Routledge was the only winger pissing on players for us that season.

GET THE FUCKING FUCK IN!

He was average for the best team by far in the Championship 5 years ago. He's got nothing left to bring to the table but waning work rate.
-
I don't want to keep harping on about Ancelotti but the bloke's absolute class from head to toe. Every inch the younger more astute version of Keegan. The man's won the European Cup 5 times and he has the humility to take responsibility and publically say sorry when his team progresses with a poor performance. Contrast this with Alan Pardew who spent his physical prime mincing about in the lower leagues and up ladders scrubbing windows. Didn't even have the decency to apologise for us getting dicked by the likes of Brighton.

What's the point of this post?
-
He was only in England and France 2 seasons each. Still only in his 2nd in Spain. Basically, as daft lad says his league record in Italy wasn't great. That's what brings it down.
-
He's won the league in England, Italy and France, mind. I'd argue he only had the best squad in one of them, too.
-
Is it really 5 yellow cards for his diving in 2 seasons in English football? Little shit should be jailed.
-
The pair of them are an absolute disgrace. The manager's a fucking cunt for telling his players to do that - which van Gaal has a history of longer than my arm.
-
Ancelotti's the greatest but I have to admit, every time I've since Real this calendar year they've been underwhelming at best and totally dysfunctional at worst. Something's wrong there.
-
Defensive midfielders are ultimately a side effect of the pragmatism that has engulfed English football since European influence became prominent around 15 years ago. Fortunately I think they're now basically a dying breed, while some sides - namely Man U - have never deployed them with genuine regularity.
-
You're saying there's no criticism deserved for what Man U have served up this season with all that investment? I think you're the buffoon, personally.
-
But so much so you had to quote it twice?
