You can’t compare them. Emery showed last season what he can do against top quality opposition. He’s shown that for well over a decade managing squads nobody could call great.

We can’t score goals and win games on the road. It’s inexcusably bad. Especially in the context of what we’ve spent to improve on a 5th place squad.

All I’d say regarding timing is I have significant reservations about him being in charge of spending money. We’re crying out for a different type of player.

How many away games against mediocre to poor sides has that been without testing the keeper? It’s just relentlessly rigid, shit, players confused, frustrated, making glaringly poor decisions in the final third and arguing with each other. We are so predictable and easy to defend against. I’m not saying sack him but he’s getting it so wrong so frequently and it’s getting worse. It will end in tears at some point with him going for someone more accomplished but that can’t be an afterthought. They need to look at it now.
