If there’s no solid basis to ‘write off’ a perennially injured 33-year-old goalscorer who hasn’t scored a league goal in a year, I’m not sure there’s ever grounds to doubt anyone ever. Especially in the context of the club we’re trying to be now. Even if his legs come back (not likely in the real world) we need better and far more reliable than Callum Wilson.

I had this discussion yesterday. The teams from 7th-11th can literally beat anyone on their day. I can’t remember a recent season where that has been the case to the same extent. The league is very strong all the way down to lower mid-table and even Spurs / Man U are both in European semis. It’s a strong league with more dispersion of quality players and managers.

You keep saying this. The service to him is mostly shit tbh. We’ll never get the best out of him until we sacrifice one of the midfield 3 and / or one of the wingers for a player or players with a genuine ability to execute that final ball. He’s clearly playing not fully fit but his ability won us the game again today with his touch and turn for the sending off.
