We’re 12th with 2 games coming up that we realistically aren’t getting much if anything from. You can make all the excuses you want but football is about results and it demonstrably isn’t working. Every issue we have can be directly traced for a failure to address both problem positions and an evolved way of playing.
-
Tragic. Another thing they either won’t address or can’t address.
-
Your loyalty is great but realistically there’s basically nothing to suggest he’s the coach to build a team who can play a more possession based style of football needed to kill games away from home especially and create chances without man for man pressing high up the pitch.
-
When we’re 14th / 15th in a few weeks do you really think HE is going to accept better performances as mitigation? I feel for Eddie a bit but all my instincts say this is only going one way now.
-
Like what, sign a new RW and midfielder to link the play with his own money? Calm down, Rio.
-
Like there’s even a Tonali versus Longstaff debate man. Tonali is literally one of Italy’s best players. Longstaff is Longstaff. The radgies and lazy media like him, granted.
-
They’ve got a top, top manager who will figure it out.
-
Not necessarily. Not saying I want it to happen because replacing him with better while keeping the squad onside would be a challenge, but there are undeniably far more accomplished managers out there. It will have to happen one day.
-
I think you’ve misconstrued. He did a phenomenal job but let’s not pretend he built a side that didn’t have the same deficiencies as ours does now - on a totally different scale obviously because of the respective budgets and ambitions. The implication was it’s surprising we’re often so poor on the ball because at Bournemouth his side (in context) excelled at that. That’s what I disagree with. And on that note I really don’t think at this point the job he did at Bournemouth can be used favourably in any discussion about the future. We know the great job he did wasn’t a fluke and in 3 years we’ve seen how and why he managed to accomplish all he did there. At this point we need him to show capabilities he’s never shown before.

Forest Gump was rapid. Let’s not rewrite history.
-
We haven’t made any effort to replace Almiron / Murphy, Dubravka as number 2. Callum as second choice striker.
-
They really weren’t mind. And they went down.
-
Loyalty to shit players, the set piece coach, Dubravka as number 2 despite fucking off to Man U and throwing them in for most of last season. There’s a real loser’s mentality about it. I get the cultivation of togetherness but that clearly isn’t working any longer.
-
If we finish 7th again the ‘project’ has failed hasn’t it? We’ll see players leave and will basically require a rebuild.
-
Barnes is useless on the right to be fair. Excellent finisher but he’s a very limited player. Why RW has consistently been passed over as priority position is beyond me.
-
He’s not the only one. The amount of bad decisions you see in the final third is staggering.
-
As much as I love Eddie people said that last season. I just see regression. Players who once bought into the togetherness of the squad and intangibility of us versus the PL now almost accepting of the fact they’re playing within a setup that’ll never help them reach their ambitions. I know it’s just one game but my instincts are it was a bit of a watershed moment.
-
I’ve said this half a dozen times but whoever is responsible for them is fucking shit at their job. They’re the worst I’ve ever seen them for us.
-
The fans are fast losing faith mind. Ones around me in Gallowgate anyway.
-
Sign players with technical quality and unpredictability would be a start. Never happen under the current setup though.
-
Due course won’t cut it though. The window is 2 1/2 months away and I’ve little faith in us doing much business to improve the first Xl. You know where we need to finish to hold on to our best players and I think we all know it’s going to take a minor miracle now. We needed a great start. Instead we’ve regressed - again.
-
It’s a colossal failure in squad management, no question. Ultimately it comes down to how ambitious the ownership actually are but if they are as much as they’ve said, then I’m genuinely concerned about where we’ll be by next transfer window and the questions that will be asked.
-
Obviously you can’t blame him for the missed chances. The failure to address RW, backup ST and the one dimensional approach to our attacking play is another matter. There’s just a real lack of intelligence in the final third.
-
Needed a win today with the fall down the league coming up next. Someone will lose their job because of that shitshow of a window. Loads of effort and pressure but ultimately it’s pound shop Klopp and has been for a while. I’ve said this before but whoever is in charge of the attacking set pieces should be ashamed of themselves. They’re abject.
