Who are our trophy winning internationals, anyway?
-
Yes, we're overrating our trophy winning international players. Please. Nicky Butt was a trophy winning international.
-
So much for his managerial ability, is that supposed to make him look better? Generally players need to be on the pitch and able in order to make a contribution.
-
A few of which have looked like players not fit for this league this season. Others have barely played.
-
it was sissoko and gouffran i was referring to and they put a foot in if the balls near them, do little chasing down and take up poor positions when out of possession, 3 of our front 4 (first line of defence)offer very little resisitance. from the little i saw of sissoko for toulouse he was a much more dynamic player now he's only involved when we have the ball, not sure if the game is just too quick for him at the moment but i certainly want to see him deeper, alongside cabaye as soon (hopefully) as we are safe. I know it was, and I'm in agreement on Moussa. Gouffran does a lot more (effective) defensive work than you're suggesting, though.

It was our best bet, like. They usually looked solid-ish.
-
Which has been made several times already ya big arse kiss.
-
Jonas and Gouffran do plenty defensively, to be fair.
-
Taylor for all his faults shouldn't be behind either of them in the pecking order. MYM obviously will get better and better.
-
Made many disturbs ffs.

Saw us 'coached' by Souness, Roeder, Allardyce, Kinnear and Shearer. Quite happy to keep my penny in my pocket, thanks. Doubt any of them would be doing any worse with the current squad tbh. The only two from that bunch that would do worse is Kinnear and Souness. Doesn't Souness have a better win % with us than Pardew? Think he does, actually. If he does...then Pardew is even worse than I thought. Souness-era was grim. In the league it won't be.
-
Saw that, what a horrible game.
-
I think Bale, too.
-
There was nowt but goal difference in it last year and City haven't played anywhere near as well. VP has done well as expected but he isn't the difference.
-
Rightly so, in most cases.

Couldn't the same be argued for Hatem though? Hatem asserts himself far better when it's going against him. Marveaux just goes missing. True but at the same time Marveaux creates more than enough when he's in the game for him to be a worthwhile starter. The mere fact he has double the assists of any one in the squad with so little game time says enough to me. Really hope he gets a starting run in the team. I'd always play him in Hatem's absence, like. He's an absolute must when you look at the lack of creativity from the rest of the side.
-
Only had 2 straight reds hasn't he? Nothing short of a miracle he's only been sent off once in the PL. I think referees, to their credit, seem to acknowledge that he's not out to hurt players, he's just determined to win the ball which often spills into recklessness.

Most of his mistakes are due to poor judgment, tbh. As was last night's.
-
I'd say performing badly for basically every game and not being able to communicate with a significant number of important teammates (ie not Perch or Willo) justifies him losing it. He played well last night, mind.
-
I think he's good on the ball. He's far better on the ball on his worst day than the bloke you championed for 2 seasons, anyway.
-
Unfortunately in the last 2 seasons we've facilitated his learning curve as a defender and at times it's really cost us. Just hope he learns and we reap the benefit.
-
He's looked pissed off in every game for about 4 months.
-
Bit difficult when chances like tonight's come with no consistency.
