  1. Apologies for the pessimism in advance.. What is worrying me in this latest delay is that it indicates Qatari officials are determined to stop this. And they are powerful enough to do this. Saudi Arabia may have stronger ties with the UK government but Qatar has proved that they can "influence" football decision-makers on the highest level. They have already succeeded in dragging out the process - the directors test has seemingly turned from a nominal accounting exercise to an all-encompassing moral tribunal. The opposition to the takeover gets bigger by the day so a potential rejection might even be spun as a good PR for the league. And I won't even get into the timing of Hatice Cengiz' THIRD letter, no doubt ghost written by her Muslim Brotherhood protectors. It's clear that grief is not the only thing driving her political agenda. I'm not sure the Saudi royal family would care so much to put similar pressure if it comes to that. Bin Salman might be already sick of the negative attention this has brought for all we know..
  2. If that's true, the deal through PIF is dead. The Saudis can put pressure on the UK Government to stop the bloody owners test circus but they probably won't bother. Next time they won't invest through PIF but some other Royal Family member will splash the cash and they'll buy Man Utd without any problems.. or why not the mackems? WHY& NOT THE FUCKING MACKEMS EH FUCKING LIFEEEE???!!! God, I can't take this, I'm off to bed like fuck this shit

8th and fucked. One of the proposals is that 3-8 go into a play-off which means they'll just scrape into that There won't be playoffs if they're scrapping the league..
  8. Project Dragon I don't want Bale, he has proven he is a mercenary. I would rather sign younger talent with a view to building a side to compete 3 years down the line. I know what you mean but im not going to turn my nose up at talent like Bale (if this is true), especially after some of the crap Ashley has picked up and put on the pitch. Bale costs more than our club.. we don't have the revenue to sign such expensive players (yet).
  9. Good guy Demba wishes us luck! https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/teams/newcastle-united/11979556/newcastle-takeover-makes-them-title-contenders
  10. Jesus has disgraced himself in Portugal.. he's now hated by all 3 sets of fans. Can't see past Rafa tbh. He's a big part of Staveley's plan, I'm sure. His Dalian contract can be sorted and his staff will also be happy to return I imagine. He'll return to continue The Project!
  11. He's that young 20-ish fella that we appointed as a scout from nowhere during Wise' tenure..along with Jeff Vetere and that.. He's probably the guy who was sending youtube links to King Kev He's had a cracking career so far https://www.transfermarkt.com/pablo-longoria/profil/trainer/7292
  12. Luke Edwards really is sinking to Ryder levels.. what a sad clown.
  13. Increased Twitter activity indicates he's yet to hear from Mandy this time round.. He claimed she contacted him 2 years ago, didn't he?
  14. As things stand, the maximum we are allowed to spend is ~£100m in a season. This includes wages and agent payments. Not a lot of room to manoeuvre. Our low revenue means that if the owners want to spend more than that from the off, we'll need one of those absurd sponsorship deals in the next couple of years. Such income is treated as "Club Own Revenue", therefore can be spent in its entirety, as far as the Premier League's concerned. The PL's regulations don't seem very strict.. iirc the only club that has been punished for over-spending in the EPL is QPR.. and they were a basket case. UEFA's FFP is much stricter, featuring hard-caps and the rules are actually being enforced. They've penalised PSG and City over "unfair value of sponsorship" several times now. That said, if fucking MBS decides he's spending on players, he'll find a way to spend on players.

https://www.scunthorpe-united.co.uk/news/2020/april/club-statement/ Seems like the Don doesn't want to be their hero anymore.. Also surely indicates a sale is not on the horizon..
  16. $0 - anyone in China can leave their post with 30 days notice. I thought loki679[/member] had made that pretty clear? I may be way off. Unless your contract extends that notice for the duration..
  17. If Al-Rumayyan is indeed nominated as Chairman, that's good news. Somehow I doubt this guy will spend any of his time on us over his duties for Aramco and PIF (combined worth over 2 TRILLION.. apparently). It hopefully indicates that the Saudis will not be hands on at all and the day-to-day running of the club will be left to Mandy, Reuben and whoever they appoint.
  18. Your point being? Two points: - The NY Times journalists who won a Pulitzer for their investigation in state funded terrorism know about Saudi Arabia. The analysts at the Department of Treasury in the US know about SA. This guy does not. - Do you boycott petrol too?
  19. Martin Samuel? Ashley's chief ass-licker.. He's even more shameless in his agenda than Luke the law expert.. Let them squirm.
  20. Saudi Arabia airlines most likely. You're assuming their business plan is similar to Man City / PSG and we don't know whether that will be the case. There are easier ways to get a name on a shirt than buying the whole club. If we're backed by PIF I expect aggressive investment tbh. It's a bit stereotypical perhaps, but the fucking Saudi royal family won't settle for 7th or 10th place, while Qatar, Dubai and Abu Dhabi's investments reap all the glory in the CL. Also PIF's portfolio speaks for itself, even if they throw PSG money at us, we'd still be one of their smaller projects in terms of outlay.
