They would buy them just for the status, the thing is though, they aren’t for sale. I think most football clubs are for sale now for the right price. They tried to buy them for 2bn. They aren’t for sale. I said NOW, not sure if you've noticed but the world is about to have it's worst economic crash in history. The glazers have man utd high in debt without any income. Aye, Just 7-800 million in yearly revenue with those levels of income - Man Utd are pretty safe.. Haven't heard of any of their sponsors pulling out yet. So they're only really losing gate money (for now). That's very ignorant to just think that football income will just return to normal after this, it won't. You noted "without any income". I just pointed out that they're still in the top 3 in the world in terms of income, I don't see even the corona virus changing that. The Glazers might decide to sell the club but it won't be cause it's not making money.

Aye right. If Putin bought us, you'd b saying "at least it's not the Saudis". Fuuuck that... I am Bulgarian. Despite being in EU, the government, the president, the juridical system, the media are all totally controlled by Kremlin . Putin is THE enemy for me.

It makes sense for him to return. They would've discussed plans with Staveley back in 2018. My only concern is that he has employed like 50 people in Dalian and might feel some loyalty to them and the owners who have backed him there. I think it's more likely that Bruce will remain in charge for an initial period, while the upper management structure is settled.. As much as it pains me to say it, Bruce has sort of earned it - the team have generally played with spirit and fight this season.

If it was some oligarch, close to Putin I would've been very concerned and probably against it from the off. Not worried by the Saudis owning us. They won't be hands-on at all and they truly are too big to fail. The country is very stable, despite and thanks to the autocratic regime. Although the Crown Prince is very young for such unlimited power and has started gathering bad publicity lately, I don't think the Royal family's political decisions will have any bearing on how we're run as a business. And after all, the Saudis have been allies to the Western world since the 70s.

Can't imagine His Royal Highness being tightfisted with his investment fund.. Our new overlords will want to rival City.. not just the success on the field, they'll want to match that level of investment. I'm sure there will be a lot of money being invested in the club and the city. The Reubens' increased involvement is hopefully another bonus for the area. I have read about some of PIF's recent acquisitions and investments and even if they match what Abu Dhabi has invested so far in Man City, it would be one of their smaller recent projects but also their most public one, in terms of worldwide coverage. Money is coming. I just hope it's invested in good, forward-thinking management, research and work ethic. The success and the good times will follow.

I have been very sceptical in the past but the latest reports are the most encouraging yet. Now fully expecting to drop dead the second the deal is concluded. Still would be worth it like.

Just watched the game.. safe to say I'm back in the want us to lose every game camp. I'm familiar with Bruce's "style" but I wasn't expecting such levels of disorganisation from the first game. Our 3 midfielders constantly getting in the way of each other in the 1st half; the farce surrounding the Willems' sub; then Ritchie charging around aimlessly from CM; ASM seemingly deciding that he should play LW .. Even Almiron looked all over the place.. After 3 years of Rafa's flawless tactics, this is tragic viewing.. The players even looked tired to dribble towards the end.

Isn't Ritchie injured?
-
https://www.transfermarkt.com/andy-carroll/verletzungen/spieler/48066 In total he has missed around 3 and a half years being injured since signing for West Ham, 7 years ago. It's also worrying that his current ankle injury seems to be a very serious one. A recurring injury, that he has struggled with since Jan 2018. Hopefully the latest surgery has been a success, otherwise I doubt we'll see him much at all.

It's obvious that his body can't handle the intensity of the Premier League. Still, I'm happy that he's back, always loved the big fucker!
-
Unfortunately I think mike is right on this one. f*** off Rafa plays politics, always pushing for more. And you're willing to believe Mike fucking Ashley?
-
What a fucking cunt.. What a pathetic liar.. At least he admits that he will never sell the club, the fucking wanker. Some of our fans should have a long think about this prospect. His bizarre reference about not using drugs probably means that he's using drugs heavily. Would at least explain some of his delusion. Who the fuck does he think he is... to overtake a historic club.. a fucking city like that? Just fucking die prick

Sky money and player trading apart, I don't think Ashley cares about the club's revenue - season tickets, shirt sales and that. In 12 years he has owned the club he has done nothing to increase the other traditional income streams. In fact, he prefers to suffocate them and relies solely on downsizing and blind customer (fan) loyalty. Imo the real reasons he hasn't sold Newcastle and instead prefers to run the club from one crisis to another for 10 years now are: - Financial gain for Sports Direct. Free advertising to potentially 2.5 billion people worldwide. His sports brands are on display in the most watched league in the most watched sport in the world. He can't buy that level of aggressive advertisement at any other PL club - it would cost him much more than what he spends on us gains from us. - Ego. He wants his name in the media, he wants to act contrary to the majority, he wants to show he can get away with anything. Ironically his favourite victim outcry "they picture me as the pantomime villain" is exactly how he wants to be pictured, because that's exactly what he is - an evil, self-obsessed bully on a major power trip. - No opposition. The media are happy to peddle his lies. The official broadcaster of the PL - Sky are acting like they are his PR agency, never mind the toothless amateurs in the local media. Even Caulkin continues to claim that the club is for sale - How can anybody still believe this after all those years??! And of course, we, the fans are powerless. Ultimately all of our efforts have had little result, unity in protest is almost impossible. That's understandable and reflects other general issues in the more-developed societies. 30 years ago, Ashley would've been driven out by collective acts of violence, if anything violent happens to him now, it will be an act of a mad man. I don't even think that poor souls like the guy from the last few pages contribute to the problem - they'll give up too, it will simply take them more time to realise that Sports Direct FC is against everything that the NUFC they fell in love was.

We shouldn't be surprised that some of the players will prefer lenience over Rafa's strictness and work ethic. They may even play with more freedom for 5-6 games until the pressure of losing gets to them and Bruce. Then the whole thing will go steadily downhill.
-
... Like said earlier, they’ve probably some dodgy agent/commission scheme going on. No doubt
