Such a compulsive liar. The story about his daughter is absurd. What kind of a guy makes up stuff like this and says it on BBC? It's obvious he doesn't want to sell until promotion either.. 40 million? They've been posting yearly losses in the region of 5-10 million even before the virus. What a dreamer! They're in for a ride with this guy.
  2. Good luck to Matty but he's making the wrong choice if he moves to Italy now. He'd be 4-5th choice at Udinese too. Maybe the plan is indeed a quick return to the PL on even higher salary. But it's Watford ffs! How can this be a better proposition in the eyes of the Longstaff family?
  3. This is it for me, no doubting the outcome (State ordered hit which wasn’t as clean as they’d hoped) but what led to this situation will never be made clear. Khashoggi certainly wasn’t a just a civilian, he had far too many dealings with the royal family and terrorist organisations to be whiter than white. As for her, no idea. She comes across fake and paid for by Qatar and she makes it easy for people to target her as such with interviews like this where she seems to know and care nothing about him, but fully versed in why the takeover shouldn’t happen. What makes me think is if SA needed him on Saudi soil/embassy then how do they make him. What would make him go there? Not many options, apart from the one he went for. Was that planned? Make him quickly fall in love. Wouldn’t be that much of a surprise twist in all this. But that said if she was involved I’m sure it would have been leaked to discredit her, I also think if there was the slightest evidence pointing to this, even though she didn’t, they have leaked that also. So all that leads me back to she’s just unfortunately met someone with a dodgy past which caught up with him and now she, just like NUFC is caught up in this political storm and her crusade for justice for him has turned in to something else driven by Qatar. No way all this is off her own back. Could she be upset that her husband was murdered in a gruesome fashion, and then cut up in pieces? Not it has to be Qatar, no doubt about it. She is nothing but a pawn. Bonkers. Maybe there's indeed more to the story and you're not very informed on the subject? What happened in the Saudi Consulate was a premeditated political murder ordered by MBS himself, or at least okay'd. There's little doubt about that. But your posts indicate you're not very familiar with the details so maybe read up a bit first and act superior later. H. Cengiz is acting on direct orders from Qatar. It was obvious even before the takeover carry-on.
  4. Something not quite right about this reported PL stance. I refuse to believe the PL bosses expect any real actions to tackle piracy.. in the Middle East of all places. That's simply unrealistic. Are they deluded enough to expect complete cooperation from KSA authorities? How will they track the progress - number of new BeIN customers? Number of arrests made? I don't doubt that the Saudi side are promising things and stringing them along but there must be some realism from the PL's side. They're dealing with one of the world's most powerful oppressive dictatorships, not the EU's IP office.
  5. He has performed well enough in defence but it's obvious he's not really motivated to play anymore. We should stay well clear (if we're taken over). Otherwise, he can be calm and composed on the ball; has good awareness and even overweight, has good agility and pace. A slightly better Dummett basically.
  6. So weird what has happened to Griezmann, got 1 minute against Atletico and Simeone was in disbelief. Griezmanns brother was angry about it on twitter too. Maybe Village Idiot[/member] can shed light There’s no place in the team for Griezemann whilst Messi is playing as a 10 now - the fact that Barca couldn’t figure this out before buying him is the most baffling thing of the lot This. Couldn’t understand them wanting him other than to weaken A.Madrid. Not sure what I make of him as a player. Especially in the EPL. Watched his documentary the other night. Probably the most boring and pointless football programme ever created. "Grizou" comes across as a dull, immature, self-centered twat.. Doesn't seem particularly arsed about his club football either..
  7. The Longstaffs should be retained for financial, sentimental and footballing reasons.. They are very decent cover for a two-man midfield. Bentaleb must be a lot more physical and aggressive if he is to play that defensive role in a midfield two. No point in persisting with him, although Schalke will let him go for a low fee. If we really have the buying power, we should look to upgrade the centre midfield area.. unless Bruce is still around. It's good that Shelvey and Hayden are having decent seasons. Now would be a very good time to cash in on them, although I doubt we'll get more than £25-30 mil for both.. No idea who we should buy instead like.. should be entirely up to the new manager's vision.
  8. Aye, this question was an easy win for Masters. Was strange that he didn't pull him up on that. Donny in the PL ffs
  9. No, didn't say he was linked to the piracy, it said he was the one who issued the Saudi response to the WTO report (i.e. email-gate) I'm pretty sure this was the same guy named in the WTO report specifically mind Pretty sure nobody was named in the report as being specifically linked to the piracy. It only mentioned Saudi parties with no actual names . there was 100% a SA individual named in the report EDIT: i'm wrong was a different guy i think, Saud Al-Qahtani MBS' Himmler
  10. The Football Law opinion indicates that Saudi and Qatari lawyers accept that PIF is a separate legal entity. ∆ On 2 June 2020 Qatari- and Saudi- based lawyers provided confirmation to this author that KSA PIF is a separate legal entity. I think it's pretty clear that's not the case.
  11. All the PL's finance comes from the broadcasters. Sky Sports apart, BeIN are the PL's biggest broadcasting partner in terms of how much money they give to the PL. It's perfectly understandable that they have to keep them happy.. even discarding Qatar's reputation for large-scale corruption of football officials.
  12. Reckon that concludes the matter. Only a matter of time. Agreed. Cat out of the bag there for me. I agree with the positive sentiments, although Masters was very professional throughout and gave away nothing. Only stumbling block is that traditionally KSA are very good in promising things and not delivering. Will they really allow independent foreign monitoring on IP rights? That's something they just don't do.. whether it's on human rights topics, oil reserves, media freedom, terrorist links or any other internal Saudi matter. Somehow I can't see BeIN's lawyers being welcomed with open arms in Riyadh. Still, they'll get the PL's approval one way or another. It will probably take a couple more months though.
  13. Think it pisses him off that Caulkin is popular, whereas he knows the majority can't stand him. Yeah most likely, doubt he's very well liked among other journos either. Or his colleagues - All the newsworthy stuff from the Telegraph has come from Jason Burt and Ben Rumsby, without any attribution to their 'specialist' NE reporter... I find the guy quite sad tbh - His thought process seems so inadequate.. he probably has some serious issues or he's constantly on the drink.
  14. Aarons, Grealish and McGinn. I'd be happy with another 10-15 players of those teams as squad players. That's not really what we need though. If we're going to have 200 mil to spend, we can raid the top Italian teams/Porto/Benfica/Ajax/Monaco/Lyon and such for some world class talent..
  15. Aye, seems like there has been enough cooperation from KSA for this to finally go through this week. Like I said before, if owning us is that important to KSA rulers to back down over beoutQ, we're really set for world domination! Now where's the Saudi flag emoji in here?
  16. His previous article contained this paragraph: "It is now almost two months since the consortium contacted the Premier League for approval – a process that was expected to take around 30 days. When the Guardian reported a fortnight ago that there was likely to be further delay, the consortium insisted it was “very hopeful” the deal would be approved imminently." So that's the context of his unusually worded post.
  17. I agree with this. It's simply up to the buyer to restructure the deal in such way to pass the test, which should be pretty easy for anybody with clean money. In our case - if the funding comes from some anonymous 20-year old Saudi royal family member, there's little the PL/BeIN can do. That's not what MBS wants from this investment though. Our potential success must carry the flag of their 2030 vision. It's extremely unlikely that they'll settle for some form of shadow investment. Still as the PL rules state, PL's decision can be challenged as a part of the test... fuck that, I'm already bored of my ramblings on the subject and the amount of fucking time it takes for the fucking PL to make their mind up
  18. That crossed my mind too, mentioned it in the opening post. I could see that happening too. No question, the PL need to have a rock solid legal basis whatever they decide because they're gonna face a backlash and subsequent legal appeals either way. Legal basis, but not necessary solid imo. The test is essentially an internal procedure of an independent organisation. It'll be up to KSA's lawyers to challenge their findings, which should be straightforward, although there is no explicit appeal procedure iirc. I just expect the PL to do everything to keep their key partners BeIN happy.
  19. Initial (public) rejection by the end of next week and quick (in comparison) successful appeal.
  20. While Keys' agenda is obvious, it's a bit radical for MBS to kidnap him like
