  1. Buying Hart straightaway could be a very expensive mistake even for a low fee. Ideally, we'd loan him with an option to buy. He seems like a decent fella but I'm not too optimistic that he can recover his previous form and confidence either.

Yeah, he looked like a decent support striker. Very physical but limited technically.
  3. Shelvey is now as skinny as Hayden! Dat midfield dynamism!!
  4. Of all the linked players, I was most enthusiastic about him. Ah well..

Aaaaahahahaha Straight to League 1 it is then.

    Graham Carr

Maybe Messi Knew I'd get a reaction Tbh Messi is obviously *better* than Ben Arfa in every single way.. But I stand by the rest of my post. There are hundreds of players more effective than Ben Arfa, probably thousands with better character. But when it comes to ability to do the unexpected, dribbling/kicking technique he can match any player, even the all-time greats IMO. The fact that players like Steve Howey (nevermind Pedro) dwarf his contribution to NUFC is irrelevant to the point I was making. He's an artist, he plays with his heart, on the field he is what fucking football is about (for me).
  7. Might be wrong but the original stockpiling of promising players started in Italy in the 90s. Several years ago Juventus, Milan and Inter had around 100 over-17 players under contract each.

    Graham Carr

In terms of flair, agility and technique, Ben Arfa is above any other player I've seen, apart from Maradona and maybe Messi. He's not some talented footballer, he's a genius. Fuck the haters.
  9. Oh ffs. Now I have to spend the summer dreading a sale. My scumbag brain is already warming up to good ol' Mike. I can't imagine Ashley will have any concerns who he sells to, as long as the asking price is met. The thought of some unknown inadequate executives replicating his mistakes for the next 10 years terrifies me to no end. Not a fan of spending beyond our means and buying success either. Fuuuck that insecurity, Ashley IN.

Red pinstripes can look like solid pink from far. Would match the color of the empty seats next season. Clever design decision.
  11. Good player but he was Pardewed badly from the start. For all his versatility, he's only ever been useful for us at RB. I don't think he'll be missed tbh. Rafa certainly liked him though. I think Anita might have fancied a new challenge himself. It's a short career. Wonder where he ends up, as he's a bit unorthodox for a midfielder and although fairly reliable, he's still unproven at fullback.
  12. I like Gibbs as a player but he hasn't played regularly for years. I wonder if he still has the hunger to develop his football. He's 27 now and his injury record can rival any of Arsenal's sicknotes (except Wilshere probably). Can't see anybody paying 15 million for him, considering he'd probably demand at least 50k in salary. I'd rather look elsewhere tbh.
  13. Seems to have been a very popular friend and team mate. So sad. RIP Cheicky
  14. Great performance. Looks leaner. f*** the haters. Should be played in the f***ing number 10 role as a target man and be done with it.
  15. One of our best performances this season in terms of drive and creativity. Then we totally lost composure in the final minutes. Rafa will be livid.
  16. How can you say his legs have gone ffs? It's the only part of his game that is an actual asset to our squad - his physicality and pace.. He charges around like a mad man most of the time. Obviously lacks composure and creativity on the ball but in terms of work rate and fitness, he's on par with Ritchie and Gayle.
  17. Well done Rafa! Now is not the time for any negativity, criticism or division. The squad lacks quality and more importantly - mentality. The run of games in Feb is very hard and anxiety from the stands will only make it harder for the players. I hope this galvanizes the support once again.
  18. QPR are focused and determined. Fair play Holloway. We'll do well to not lose the game. The mentality of the players is not right tonight.
  19. I'd argue that Gouffran is a better option from the left. Lennon has probably only played a handful of times on that flank throughout his career. I'm surprised that he has featured regularly for Everton this season tbh.. thought he wasn't even registered in the 25-man squad.

    Modou Barrow

I'm amazed that so many people don't rate Barrow. He's not scared to take on attacking responsibility and regularly makes good impact coming as a sub. He has his limitations of course - lighweight, not the best decision-making.. but there's also a lot of potential in his dribbling and technique. I'd be happy with him as an option on the wings. Of all the left-footed right wingers we've been linked with, he seems the most unsuited to playing on the left side though. Just saw he's 24.. I actually thought he was 18/19. Still - would be a good deal for a low fee.
  21. Merry Christmas fellas! Love you all!
