A bit concerned that we're lacking flair again. Was expecting a stronger side tbh. Good to see Ba on top but Gosling and Obertan must be much more focused than in the 1st leg.. Howay the lads!

I'm probably extremely naive here but I'm still confident we'll get at least two of Debuchy, Carroll and Douglas. With a few exceptions, there doesn't seem to be much genuine interest in those three apart from us. Lille, Liverpool and Twente would probably rather cash in now. Douglas' contract expires and Debuchy and Carroll's prices are likely to drop next window for different reasons. The fact that they're all players who play in different positions also gives me a bit of hope. That indicates that if the price is right we might sign all three.

Those two signings can transform their pathetic squad full of plodders into a tough opposition for most of the league. Still, it's just a matter of time until Marty fucks off and they're left in a similar position to Villa..

It's not just one performance is it.. He seems very limited every time he has featured, apart from a couple of friendlies this pre season. I suspect his wage doesn't reflect the fact that he should be at most 6th choice midfielder for us. It's not realistic to want him sold but maybe someone will take him on a loan.

He improved in the second, but he's horrible in so many ways. Not even worth discussing his weaknesses in detail. Should either be sold to the first bidder or ONLY be used as an impact substitute against shite teams playing a very high line.

Not good. We must step up before it's too late.

I'm still confident we'll sign Debuchy (and sell Simpson). Don't think we'll match Fulham's offer for Douglas though and I can't see Liverpool selling Carroll back to us for less than 10 million. I doubt we'll pay more than that. Not too concerned though, we have a determined squad with good work ethic. I'm confident that the younger / backup players can step up when needed.

Nice draw. A trip to Athens sounds very tempting.. I know the route well enough, it's a 7-8 hr drive from Sofia. It's unlikely that I'll cope with work though, as the game is between my two extended holidays and there's loads of s*** going on atm.. Anyway, the opposition seems minor enough so that we can travel with a team, similar to the one at Hartlepool and still be confident of getting a result.
