If Aulas' words can be trusted both Paqueta and Aouar will 100% leave this summer. Although I'm not the best judge of midfielders of this type, I follow Ligue 1 and imo, Aouar isn't that good and not really suited for the physicality of the PL. He's a lightweight water carrier type that's tidy on the ball but doesn't excel in anything in particular and often disappears in games.

I was sure we're in for him and that we're waiting to make our move closer to the deadline because Lyon have to sell... I've calmed down a bit now. Yeah, they probably have more than 50 people employed as scouts and recruitment analysts but Ten Hag appears to only trust players that he knows. Seems like another awful appointment for them.. Starting with a Eriksen as a false 9 in the PL I had big respect for that total football side he had at Ajax in his first couple of years but it looks like Ten Hag might not have been the architect of that, as he dismantled it. Guy seems like he's never seen a Man Utd (or PL) match in his life. And yes, Lisandro Martinez will never be a good defender in the PL.

My advice is to remain calm and ignore all talk of our supposed budget and FFP constraints. It's good for the club that it circulates the media, as we seem very determined to drive a hard bargain. If he has to, Al-Rumayyan has the resources to fix a £100 million cash flow issue in the matter of hours.

It seems like a mega-agency with hundreds of clients ranging from Ancelotti to Dan Langley. So business probably isn't as relationship-driven as with the old school agents - like Paqueta's for example - a dodgy cigar smoking guy in a velvet suit.. I choose to remain obsessed with Paqueta's ugly mug. Lyon's president is a notoriously different negotiator and we got a good fee from him on Bruno in January. It makes sense to (tap up the player and) wait towards the deadline. And that applies to any other target from a club that is not in a position to reject 30-40 million. With the risk of being disappointed, I still believe we'll spend another ~80-100 million. Probably already posted but Edu has apparently admitted Paqueta is not a priority for them atm.
