Gillespie was the complete opposite of Milner. Fast as fuck with a good crossing technique. Milner, despite his constant turns left and right, is very predictible as a winger and his final ball is often aimed at nobody.. just throw it in there. 12 million is a great price for his limited ability and I don't blame Ashley for accepting that. I'm happy with Carroll as a targetman option. He's big and strong and apparently a dickhead too. Certainly one of the few exciting players to come through our academy in the last 20 (!) years. Hopefully Ranger will continue to improve too, he's done well so far.. made a good start to his international career and that will be good for his confidence as a footballer.
