A gambling one A poor one Take your pick A gambling/poor businessman likes to lose money eh? Since when? You don't buy into that conspiracy theory as well right? What kind of man likes being spurned by 50,000 people? Ashley may have bought NUFC to make money but it soon became clear Mike wanted to be liked. Then he fell out with a man had earned the affection of the city. For all his money Ashley became disliked immensely. From Hero to Zero, it might be hard for a multi billionaire to accept that money can’t buy the things that matter most. The idea Ashley is a robotic idiot who only thinks about money is naive. Billionaires have feelings too, odd ones that drive them to pursue profit long after the law of diminishing returns have kicked in. Have you been sniffing glue?! Ashley isn't going to be motivated by revenge when it comes to something he owns, which is currently a drain on HIS money. f***ing hell man I know Ashley's being an idiot but have a word, if you think for one second that revenge is a factor then you're utterly deluded... Yes, I thought everybody on here did. Considering the underwhelming number of people latching onto your little consiprationally theory, evidently not. I’d take that as evidence the practice is rife. I'd prefer to take it as evidence that I trust my Firefox spell checker a little too much.

Wait, what? Colo hit someone? Surely he'll get banned for that or something.

I love that you went to the trouble of getting every letter in Haris' name accented correctly.

Can't believe some people in this thread were opposed to signing Tevez...

Couldn't agree more with that sentiment. Really? Personally I'd like to cling on as long as possible, never know when some miracle cure could come out, unlikely but there's always the hope. as and when you've watched it,felt it a bit more you'll realise that the miracle cure is a way off and the pain is closer. i fully understand and concur with crumpys sentiments. My Grandad died of lung cancer, and I still feel I'd rather fight it than not, but everyone's going to have a different feeling on it. Best of luck to John, looks very bad but you never know.

Good, now Arsenal can go sign a real striker.. But they won't.. martins Martins under Wenger, could do alright. Could do a lot better though.

You know things are bad when we're resorting to turning Shola into a cult hero.

Every few days is excessive. My doctor said once a month, or even once every couple of months. I think I'll check at least 3 times a day. Can never be too careful.

So who's actually in the Profitable Group then? It can't just be some former England player, I thought it was a Singaporean business?

Does anyone know of a website that has a list of the transfers that have happened since the end of last season? I'm updating my FM 2007 database before FM2010 comes out and would really appreciate it if anyone knows of something like that.

Villa > Ibra tbh.

are you his child

Where does that bus go to again? To goalsville, that's where.

Shola for no.9!!

Really don't think getting rid of Eto'o is the right move at all, incredible forward.

The way I react to FIFA tells me that I would definitely react like that, doesn't mean I wouldn't deserve a big ban for it though.

We, as Harper said, die a slow and painful death under the fat man.

I'd rather have a squad of 16 kids than go bankrupt. We won't go bankrupt in 6 more months of paying those wages after we've survived years of it. This is the thing that people don't seem to get in the whole hysteria. Ashley is the one taking the hit on money, not you or I. If we went into the season with the same squad, financially we would take a huge hit but the receivers will not be called in. If this was to continue for a few years and we hadn't got ourselves back up, we continued to pay wages beyond our means and our crowds had dwindled to a fraction of what they had been, then the club would will would quite rightly be "doing a leeds", but we are not there yet. If you look at other clubs for examples of this Leeds themselves, once the troubles hit, it took a couple of season before they went down then 2 more in the championship before administration hit them. Despite everything Ashley is still a very wealthy man and even he is not stupid enough to right off completely his investment. So lets not make the situation even worse by blowing everything up out of propotion. Hell, the worse his financial situation gets the more likely he is to drop his asking price and actually sell us.
