  1. http://www.nufc.com/2007-08html/2008-03-08liverpool-a.html Well said chaps
  2. "Right, we're playing 5 v 1 and Carrol has a 1 goal start, let's see if you lot can manage to keep your heads and not lose by more than 5"
  3. 2 pages without a single response from the OP poster. It's a thing of Beauty.
  4. I tell ya. If I donated to a hospice. And that hospice appeared on the front of the Rags shirts. I would send my money somewhere else. Its the rules! Not really. Pretty pathetic I'd say. Like Mackems who won't eat Sugar Puffs. Need to have a word with themselves. When Liam O'Brien scored that free kick against the mackems at Roker Park, the advertising board behind the goal was for John Halls Metrocentre. No-one gave a fuck on either side. The soopafan attitude these days is cringeworthy.
  5. He only missed 6 games last year....and only managed 11 goals in the 32 he played. In his first season in the premiership and without having a pre-season with us, after having joined us so late in the window. Well he's only managed 6 this season too....and he was hardly a bench warmer in the 20 odd games before he went to the African Nations.

  7. We score in 3 games in a row for the first time in 2 months, but as soon as Martins gets back in the squad, goals dry up. The man is a jinx.
  8. I'd agree. If only the boo boys and Rugby fans agreed.
  9. Not really. The bookies still seem to think we'll be staying up. I'll get all Chicken Little if we start losing to teams in danger of relegation.
  10. We were never in the bottom three at this stage of the season, though, or as close to it if i remember correctly. 5 points from relegation last year is also a bit of a red herring as we were safe very early on and only then hit an awful run of form which saw us plunge down the table. I know personally this is the most concerned i've been about us actually going down in recent times, not that that is the core of the argument. Aye, we only won one of our last 11 games last year. But your season is 38 games innit. I reckon we've had our nighmare run over the last 12 or so games. have you honestly seen enough in keegans games to suggest we can get the points you're talking about? personally i've not, particularly away from home where we're the easiest of easy touches reading are turning the corner and i think will take at least a point from us, that leaves fulham and the mackems for me where we can realistically expect points at home...not wanting to be overly pessimistic but i can't see where any away points will come from, anyone we play will smell blood and go for the kill your optimism now mirrors the same around january when it was considered impossible we could even get to this point by many people, i like optimism but baseless optimism is no good to anyone My dear old mother always said to me that worrying about a problem has never solved it. And she was right. The amount of people on here going on as if we're already down is an absoloute disgrace. It compares only with the number of people saying the players have given up the ghost. If you ask me, fans get the players they deserve. Positive mental attitude man. The players are bound to fall apart with a crowd so nervous they're biting their nails rather than being the 12th man. Galvanise the players with unwavering support, rather than undermining them with constant criticism and boo's after we get beat off Man U-f******-nited. calm down there big fella, merely asked you a question you never answered agree about the booing etc... at the games, disgraceful, but discussion forums are something different entirely - if everyone just said "howay the lads" there'd be no point and i think we'll stay up, just not under our own steam Not directed at you mate, just picked a post to let my steam off in. I hate negativity. Despise it. I'm very negative on negativity. In answer to your question, I think the games against Bolton, Boro and and Blackburn showed we have got the players to match other teams that are goinfg to survive...and even chase Europe. It's unfair to ask if Keegan's team have shown that away from home when his only away games have been Arsenal, Liverpool and Villa (who we more than matched for 50 minutes to be fair).
  11. The current crop of deadbeats clearly have no heart or care to put the effort into the job. You talking about the fans on here, or the players?

  14. We've played more teams from the top half than any other club down there and still aren't in the shit. Keegan's team haven't lost to a team outside the top 7....and deserved to win both of those games. Keegans run of 8 games so far have been the toughest all season. Our opening 3 or 4 months of fixtures should have had us firmly rooted in the top half, so this run wouldn't have presented any danger.
  15. Just because our predicament has followed a board change, it doesn't mean our predicament is due to a board change. We've still got every chance of getting more points than we did last year and finishing above where we did last year, I think we will, but we'll see. We're still only one place lower than we finished last year for fucks sake, it's not like there's been a drastic drop in quality since the club changed hands. I appreciate all of that, but i think his point still stands. The very reason relegation seems so unthinkable to a large proportion of our fans is due to the success we had under the previous board, under the man who almost everybody wanted rid of. The fact that the closest we've come to it for some time has coincided with the change in ownership, wether as a direct result of it or not, only strengthens his position. Unfortunately NE5 has become something of a parody of himself, perhaps people would be more receptive to his views if he wasn't. We were in the bottom three several times under Shepherd.....and were only 5 points from relegation last year. I'll wager we have a wider margin of safety this year.
  16. I'm honestly suprised at the negativity. I don't see how people think we'll be dragged into it looking at our fixtures/form compared to Bolton/Sunderland. I expect us to be 12 points clear of danger come the 29th.
  17. Obviously not watching the games.
