i can honestly imagine Ashley being gutted at the whole situation. There's no way he wanted to be in the position he's in now. But, if he or someone else hasnt chose wise, Jiminez, Vetre etc over KK then he has put himself in this position. KK was starting to do a job here, the football was improving, and i really had high hopes for this season and looking forward to watching some exciting football. So no, imo, KK was/is not yesterdays man.

The weekend fall out could have some credibility. It's been widely reported all summer Ashley was looking to shrink the wage bill. Those three players are among the top earners at the club. Ashley probably wants a more compact wage structure for first teamers, say from £30k to £50k per week. The wages those three are currently on put them at risk of sale and to be fair the club has a reason to sell all three (Owen's contract, Smith being s**** and Barton being a c***). why offer him a new contract then? Agree totally - no way are they going down this season, and if KK leaves, people ought to be more concerned about NUFC going down than them... Keane is doing a decent job and if they gradually improve then they will start to get the sort of corporate backing that NUFC used to get..after all, would YOU back NUFC after all this and if KK leaves when you could back what looks to be a more stable club ? NUFC has become a complete joke, whereas SAFC are making progress - arrogance has often been punished in the crazy world of football(look at once-mighty Leeds now) so don't be tempted to indulge in it; He who laughs last laughs longest and who know ? Maybe the Fates have decided that its THEIR turn to be Top Dogs - after all NUFC haven't exactly made the most of it..! they wont be top dogs, average manager, average players. to be honest, appropriate or not, ive had a great deal of pleasure in telling a few mackems at work that "ive heard there's some stories going round that you could be in a bit of a financial state" the reaction is class.
