News of the meeting was leaked by a club source. There's no way they would want attention on the meeting unless there's a good chance KK's coming back, or at least we will be pulling out all the stops to make it happen. how do you know it was a club source? -

Defo Ashley's side. Even if nothing happens it's good PR for tomorrow. Yeah, for a very private man he sure made this meeting public enough, just a stunt maybve, do the meeting get fans chilled a bit before tomorrrow. why would kk agree to that? Oh aye coz they would tell KK their plans, seeing as they have been so honest with him so far.. what, so you thin kthey would just say, "fancy a drink Kev", - "aye, nee bother, say 7 o clock?" he obviuosly has some sort of idea why he was meeting Ashley. -

without a shadow the timing isnt a coicidence, but i think there could really be a cance in a revival here. Something must have been said o KK to get him to a face to face meeting. I dont believe for a second it would have been "KK fancy coming down to a hotel for a chat", "what about" , "ah ill tell you when you get here" -

there is no way the two of them would meet in person if it wasnt about coming back. Just no way. Ashley blatently wants him back. Wether he'll come is a different matter, but he must be interested for him to even go and meet him. Bloody hell, this club. -
thought he'd fucked off to Holland?

There's only one Dennis Wise? ......
-
ive been trying to get this exact point across for ages. What are people actually protesting about?
-
i totally understand why people arent going, why they are marching and why they are taking banners. Im myself incredibly pissed off with the whole situation. But i didnt boycott a game when SBR was treat like shit, i didnt boycott when FFS bought playes behind Roeders or Sounesses back, and i didnt and wouldnt have boycotted if i knew what state the club was in at the time of FFS either. So i would find myself almost being a bit hypocrytical if i was too do it now if you catch my drift?
-
well basically, it shows me you have f*** all idea what your protesting about and are clinging on to other people. well done. iv'e got more years in than you care to mention bonny lad. yeah, and..

is this a wind up??

Jesus wept. If this was a friendly then I could see where you're coming from. It's not. It's a league match, our players have done nothing wrong and need our support now more than ever. Stop being so selfish!! What happens if we fill the ground and still lose? We have then lost the moral high ground and it will be seen as too little too late to boycott the next home game. Try and get some principles for gods sake. KK had principles and stood by them which is why he is out of a job on our behalf!! What happens if we don't get behind the team, they lose, and we get relegated or miss out on Europe when one win would have seen us safe and secure. I might be exaggerating but it could happen. There are so many other things going on to show Ashley et al how unhappy we are - why take it out on the players too? Look, Ashley can afford to buy 52,000 fans a pint at about £3 a pint so he won't even notice if nobody buys a pie and/or a pint on saturday so what will that prove? He will probably return the unsold pies to the pie supplier on a no sale no fee basis and it will be the supplier that is affected rather than Ashley. Any beer not sold will be sold and quaffed in the following weeks. Regardless of what anyone says about going to the game and getting behind the players, the truth is that those that go are being selfish in the extreme because they are simply addicted to going to the match and probably don't buy pies or have a drink anyway, so don't try to justify your actions as being in the interests of the club. Nonsense. Why is it nonsence? Because you don't want to miss going to the match? It's hard to stay away, believe me, because I have been there and got the t-shirt. Way back when the club sold Supermac to Arsenal, against the wishes of the fans, I and a load of mates all agreed to refuse to renew our season tickets as a protest. Naturally I was the only one to stick to my guns because it was a matter of principle to me. If anyone goes to the game on saturday, to my mind they they are effectively stating they are unprincipled in this matter and are surrendering the moral high ground to Ashley and the board. If you can't see that then I suppose NUFC deserves you. what exactly am i surrendering if i go to the match btw??? & why am i unprincipled?? If you can't see how and why you are forfeiting the moral high ground you are a lost cause already. Put it this way, an empty ground is a tangibly, visible protest that cannot be hidden unless the club refuses to allow cameras into the ground. Not buying merchandise etc, will not cause any tangible effect whatsoever if the club decide not to release sales figures. What do you think the club will do if sales are zero? Tell the world that they haven't sold anything? or simply release a statement saying on-line sales are booming! I am not advocating that 52000 will boycott the game because there will always be fans like you who think a token gesture is sufficient, and can leave it to the more radical fans to forcibly make our feelings known. However, to my mind going to the game is like a union member crossing a picket line. Would you do that? ok, let me put it this way. What if i dont agree with you? Who gave you or anyone else the right to say "right everyone, we're boycotting".

ileft them a comment, but im not sure if they'll put it up.

na, he's not going to be there. also you should change your AV now lol

Does anyone out there have any kind of confidence in Ashley at all?

If you don't like that example, try another one. Would you have been happy in January if Wise had been appointed manager - a job for which he at least had a little experience? If not, why are you happy for him to have an even more important role at the club? Do you think Dennis Wise has the required background and experience to be the most important figure on the footballing side of the club? The one who not only ultimately chooses which players to buy and sell, but which coaches to hire and fire? Who has wise hired or fired that we know of for a fact?? A dof role is completly different to being on the training field with them. Wise has shown with our signings so far, he has a knack of spotting a good player. And to be fair, all arguments about back stabbing and who is to blame etc he has done a good job. This doesnt mean i would acdept Jonathan Douglas as our manager. -

Would you be happy with, say, Jonathan Douglas (Leeds captain under Wise) as manager first team coach? I don't have a clue what the hell you are on about with this comment? It's like half of the people on here have lost their senses in the last couple of weeks! What does Jonathan Douglas have to do with my post? Well, it's just that someone like Jonathan Douglas currently has as much of an adequate CV (captain of a Championship/League 1 side for a couple of years) to be a the head coach of a Premiership side as Dennis Wise (manager of a Championship/League 1 side for a couple of years) has to be the Director of Football of a Premiership side. You're happy with Dennis Wise, a man with no experience of even managing at a Premiership club to be given a role much more critical to the success of the team than the coach, so would you be happy with a coach who had a similar level of experience of coaching? FAIL! double fail tbh I'm glad you both agree that the appointment of Dennis Wise as Director of Football was a massive failure. Now, what can we do about it? err, yeah, good one. In terms of giving examples, that has to be the worse one ive ever seen in my life. -

He thinks (no, he 'knows') that we are irrelevant to him, so he has (and always will) treat us like an irrelevancy . . ie, like sh*t. were you saying he treat us like shit before KK left? -

If we're doing well things may be more quickly forgotten, but don't forget that any new manager will be working under the restraints that Keegan had to endure. i.e having some of his buys/sales chosen for him, wether he agrees with them or not. Effectively, the manager will pick the team from a squad that has been chosen for him. No matter wether Keegan or anyone else was manager, surely that's an unacceptable situation. nah, i think the new manager will be more than aware of the situation. As its been publicly debated, this is the way more and more teams are going. If a Poyet, a Zico or even worse a Wise becomes manager, they will be aware of the structure and will have to be happy with it to take the job.
