Much as I'd like to think that there'll be a rash of announcements tomorrow, we're past midnight now and they've announced Xisco. So that's it. They can't sign anyone else now and the announcement has been made. I wasn't that bothered when we sold Milner as I believed we'd sign a replacement. We haven't. I'm pissed off. We should have kept him. Cunts.
-
WHS really, the club see no need to announce stuff to Sky Sports so we'll find nothing out until tomorrow.

I considered lager, but have instead plumped for the red wine. Not got work in the morning so a hangover isn't an issue.

Just because Lennon is short, black, plays RW and is quicker than SWP doesn't make him a quicker version of SWP. Wright-Phillips actually has some footballing talent, whereas Lennon is just a sprinter who plays the occasional game of football. I really wouldn't want him here. People talk about Milner having no end product, well you've obviously never seen Aaron Lennon anywhere near a football pitch.
-
I really fucking hope not. He's just a sprinter with no footballing talent at all.
-
Well, the title is better but the words hurt my eyes.
-
Yeah, because if he'd signed for us he'd have got injured in exactly the same way.
-
Which is EXACTLY why I'm saying we need to see him play for Newcastle first before we make a judgement on whether he's good enough or not. Of course he might be crap, I'm not denying that possibility. But he might also be brilliant. We simply don't know.

Actually rob lee was far from an unknown when we signed him. Here we go again on this forum . it's the same old s***, anyone that does follow the party line is mocked and ridiculed, instead of people just respecting other peoples opinions, because that's all they bloody are opinions and the "party line" is no way more correct then any others. Where am I mocking or ridiculing people?. Sure, I'm disrespecting people's opinions. But the opinions I'm disrespecting and dismissing are that this new guy isn't good enough when they've frankly seen fuck all of him in action and are basing their opinion solely on his age and the clubs he's been with. Frankly they're opinions deserving of dismissal. (And Rob Lee was of course far from unknown, but he was playing outside the top flight (And had been for the last 2 years), was 26 and had never been good enough for the top sides until then. We took him and turned him into a top class midfielder who went on to get over 20 England caps. All for £700k.)
-
Everything after this point is irrelevant really.
-
To those whinging their tits off that Keegan's brought in a 26 year old attacking midfielder that nobody's heard of, can I just say "Rob Lee". Have some faith.
-
If only Carr had shown that much energy and enthusiasm when he was on the pitch here, he might have made something of his time with us.

We can't sign anyone on monday, Shirley? (Unless they're a free agent of course, but how many of them would "shock the world"?) Why can't we sign anyone on monday like? Because I'm stupid and ill-informed?

We can't sign anyone on monday, Shirley? (Unless they're a free agent of course, but how many of them would "shock the world"?) Where have you been? It's been shifted to Monday at midnight. I did hear that, but I assumed that when they said that they meant Sunday into Monday. So yeah, not really been paying enough attention.

Heskey >>>>>>>>> Ameobi So on that note, yes a good signing.
-
So he'll probably sell for £9m then.
-
So happy I cancelled it. I hope they fold.

Well I can't say I'm disappointed that that's over! And by that, I mean not only the match but also the terrible commentary on the foreign TV channel. Wankers. Arsenal were exceptional, we ranged from mediocre to terrible. Given: 7 Did nothing wrong Beye: 5 Did nothing Taylor: 4 Got pulled all over the place Coloccini: 6 Got pulled over a slightly smaller place Enrique: 6 OK. Got forward well and passed OK Jonas: 7 Excellent tracking back, very willing to run forward but seemed to lack the talent to actually beat a man Butt: 5 Seemed to lack any talent at all. Broke up a few tackles and flukily hit the bar when the ball came off his shoulder Guthrie: 7 Tidy in the middle. Kept the ball well and good distribution N'Zogbia: 6 Willing, got forward well but has played better Owen: 6 Did OK, couple of half chances but really didn't get much service. Hard to blame him for that though Ameobi: 2 Fuckoff, you're not a footballer. Bassong: 6 Did little positive or negative. OK at the back but didn't get forward much Mike Ashley: 10 just for downing that pint.

I can't say I'm massively keen on signing someone on loan who we have no option to buy. I can see how it could be positive long-term if he helps us up the league and therefore we are able to attract better players next year, but it still leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. I'll admit I was hoping for better.

Would you support Whitley over a PL team playing at SJP in black and white stripes, calling themselves Newcastle Nitros or something, having originally been located in lancashire ? Was with you all the way up until "Originally located in lancashire". I despise the whole relocation thing, so it would be really hard for me to accept that. So I'd probably stick with Whitley Bay and hope that someone started a home-grown Football Club United of Newcastle or so on. Failing that, I'd start it myself! Wouldn't it be hard though not to jump on the bandwagon, if the Nitros started playing great football winning trophies and the rest of the city had been taken in. After all you're a Newcastle lad, they are representing your city, the Geordie nation as it were, just because they started out some where else, does it mean we should be any less proud of them, would it not be hard to resist ? Just so you know, I'm playing devil's adovcate here I've resisted enough bandwagons in my time to not jump on the next one that passes. For me, supporting Newcastle has never been about winning trophies (Thank god), it's about supporting a team that you identify with. Your local team. The team your family supported. Of course, there'd come a point where this new Newcastle Nitros team would become more synonymous with Newcastle than with their previous Lancashire base but I think that point would take so long to arrive (ie years rather than weeks or months) that I'd be a hardened Whitley Bay supporter by then and there'd be no going back. That's certainly how I'd like to think it would happen, but of course you never can tell. Maybe I'd sneak in to a couple of matches to watch the Nitros beat the Mackems!

I'd want to support my local team. Just now, that would be South Shields. Though there'd be a temptation to go and see Whitley Bay's matches as I used to on occasion when I lived there for 10 years and I only moved ot South Shields 2 years ago, so I've no real affiliation for the team or anything yet. So yeah, probably Whitley Bay. That's assuming no reborn NUFC, as they'd obviously be my first choice.
