  1. Why do you need WiFi to be contacted in an emergency? If it's urgent, they're phoning you not sending you a facebook message.

Was it though? I'm sure I read that Toney by his own admission wasn't good enough and wasn't making the grade, and needed to be kicked out to buck his ideas up. If he'd stayed he'd not have progressed to become the player he is now.

Ivan Toney's not doing too bad for a Premier League reject. Same for Kevin Mbabu and Mitrovic Just because a player doesn't make the grade at the time doesn't mean they have no future at that level.

Maybe but they'd get £100m + parachute money, so it's probably not something to turn down.
  5. "Nurse! Nurse! Come quick, he's out of bed again!"
  6. Might as well close the forum if we're not allowed to discuss things or have an opinion.
  7. Whilst I don't doubt he improves the squad and possibly the first XI, I don't think McTominay takes us to where we want to be. For that reason I think it's a pointless signing, we'll just need to upgrade him again in a year or so. Gordon I feel similarly about, but at least he's got age on his side and has been playing under a shit manager so maybe he's better than he's been showing and could come good.

They're talking about themselves like they're going to be everyone's second favourite team like we were in the 90s for playing swashbuckling football, but looking at the mess blowing round their bungalow bowl each weekend, they're more likely to get nicknamed "The Empty Containers".

I mean to be fair we've plenty of times sung "stand up if you hate Sunderland". I've not heard it in a while, thankfully, but it's hardly completely unknown.
  10. Yeah our corners were rank. Kept hitting our men but they did nothing with them. Just need people steaming in for thumping headers, stop trying to be clever.
  11. We're so solid at the back but because teams know how good we are there going to sit back a lot against us and we packed any way to unlock them. We always seem to want one too many touches and for all our play and chances I don't think (m)any of them were what I'd call clear cut chances that I thought we should put away. So we need creative reinforcements, and to get the creative players we have (ASM, Isak) on the pitch from the start
  12. Definitely. About a year by my reckoning, maybe even a little more. Worrying signs.

    Anthony Gordon

Reverse jinxes only happen if you do them accidentally, but nice try.

I mean if I were a mag working for Sunderland, you'd have to assume I needed the job fairly badly. Therefore I'm unlikely to be a petty cunt to the supporters in case I get in trouble for it, because being nasty to customers isn't really a sensible thing for any company employee. If anything, I'm likely to be extra nice just so that I don't get accused of bias. And if I was a mag working at Sunderland and was being biased against the fans, I'd expect to be sacked. Literally nothing they say (as normal) adds up.

It's a multi-million pound business, the safety officer isn't going to be allowed to just make up his own rules on the spot as to what's permitted, whether he's a mag or not. If something has been banned, it's because there's a reason to ban it, almost certainly written down in the club and he's following that guidance. They'll have been told this reason too, and like any organisation if you're not happy with the reason you could ask to escalate the issue higher. That they've done none of this but instead shouted "MAG" tells me they've probably been given a very good reason that they don't like (I'd put good money on "The fans can't be trusted with these kind of things because the stadium is a dump of crisp packets etc anyway") and so have resorted to their normal response of blaming anyone but themselves for their predicament.
  16. So they reckon he's got a contract with them for 18 months but they're not paying for him? That doesn't make any sense on any level. Wish him well. Dug us out a hole by being a focal point for our team, even if his goal return wasn't what we wanted he played a big part in last season. Seems a great lad and always gave his best.
  17. Surely Gordon violates our "No dickheads" rule?

We (here and on Twitter) were laughing at their racism, xenophobia and contradictory stances on things and rather than stop being racist, xenophobic or contradictory they decided to just hide it all so they could carry on being racist, xenophobic and contradictory.
  19. They're not shite, it's just clear as day that the only way they (or indeed any journalists) get info on transfers is from leaks. And when there's no leaks because the club is being run like a professional organisation for the first time in decades, they're left scratching their arses because unless there's a leak from the selling club that they can get hold of, they're left writing vacuous shit like "5 reasons Jacob Murphy has had a haircut".
  20. I mean it sounds good and I do love Callum, but there's not a chance on Earth that a soon-to-be 31-year-old Wilson with his hamstrings made of cheese and a body held together with sticky tape and chewing gum is going to keep our record signing striker on the left and the hottest striking prospect* in Europe on the right. (*Subject to a steward's inquiry on his birth certificate)

There's definitely some bitterness in him which transcends football, there's some serious traumatic event in his past which has caused him to be like this. Probably walked in on his wife getting backscuttled by his neighbour whilst they were both wearing matching toon tops or something.
