If he wanted more time with his family, he could have it now. He chooses to come in very early and leave late, it's not a job requirement. I'm sure if he announced he was "only" going to do 8am to 5pm every day, nobody would bat an eyelid. It's still double the shift Steve Bruce ever put in. Leaving Newcastle isn't necessary in order to reduce his working hours.

I get why she has to sell up, but why can't she stay as a director? Directors don't need any equity. Her selling up shouldn't matter IF all parties want her to continue as a director. If she severs ties completely, that's a choice all parties have made. Be interesting to see what happens.

Pickford's good with his feet but has limited reach. He works for the style England play but he isn't and never will be a truly elite keeper. That said I'm not sure who'd replace him, don't think there's anyone clearly better. Pope is the complete opposite of him, fantastic reach but awful with his feet. My big concern for Pickford is penalties, I just don't see him being able to stop anything that is in the outer third of the goal.

If we were (as was seemingly the case) £40m+ behind on PSR and Man U were offering £2m for Ashworth, accepting that rather than holding out for nearer £20m wouldn't seem sensible. That to me is a very sensible game of "chicken" given how little £2m would help us and how greatly £20m would help. For £2m we might as well not bother as it's not going to move the needle on what we need to achieve.
