  1. It was disappointing to be going into the last two games unlikely to make CL having blown a lead and Shearer missed a pen. Bad decisions had been made off the pitch but there was no wider protest that day, our team and management were booed off for ending the season disappointingly - the league, and the UEFA semi defeat. There was a decline from the previous two years, but not a massive one, we've since seen what a massive decline is. I thought our fans were an absolute embarrassment that day. Laurent Robert was also loudly booed off the pitch. Bobby rightly called our fanbase out. That day always sticks in the memory of how fickle and petulant our fans can be when people talk our fanbase up - and I've thought about it repeatedly as we see ourselves on the rise again. Thankfully we at least got to give the team a good send off on the final day at Anfield, including Gary Speed's last game in the shirt.
  2. 31 away PL goals for the season takes us to joint second for a season in the PL era. First was 01/02 with 34, joint second with 93/94 when there were two more away games).
  3. How did he get there, and who the fuck is taking on a multi-year stadium ban to give Eddie Howe a little shove
  4. I'm going to have to stop reading fan reactions in the next few years as every defeat, or every draw to a side outside the top 3, is apocalyptic and a disgrace.
  5. E.g. straight after my post^ "a miracle" is getting 6 points from three games. A certainty? No. A miracle? 6 points from three games. A miracle. Howay man. Have a word some of yous Remembering all the 10s on the relegationometer last season
  6. Game was very much how I imagined, I was nervous for this one. Feared a loss, frustrating but okay with a point. Some right freaks raging about it, can't comprehend what you must've been feeling for the last 20 years and how you're still alive.
  7. That's pathetic from them trying to run the clock down for a draw. I get you've got ten men at the end against a better team but that's you in the relegation zone with only 2 games (1 home) left.
  8. Joint 6th all time PL scorer with Nobby and Cisse. 4 behind Sir Les in 5th.
  9. I'd take a draw here tbh. As long as they don't win and I have to see Sam's face.
  10. I really enjoyed the podcast- Trippier comes across as such a nice, good, humble guy. I found the humble part refreshing, I don't really expect that with these types of players these days e.g. "I never imagined I'd be playing in a CL final" - I'd expect more "I always knew I could play in a CL final". The leadership group thing was very interesting, had never heard that before. And Simeone sounds even more mental than I thought, the 'we're going to be champions' greeting Loves Dyche, could see him when he drops off in quality with age potentially dropping to wherever Dyche is then. Tho hope he ends his career with us. Also our negotiators rinsed him knowing he wants to move back, how've we managed to get him to accept lower wages than Atletico
  11. Is this injury the one when he went down and Pickford rolled him off the pitch?
  12. For me (I mean it's sad cos we've not won any cups to surpass it) scoring and going mad in an otherwise silent Stadium of Shite is as it's good as it's gotten as a fan.
  13. I don't want them up yet, but what you on about? All the Stadium of Light wins, and the 5-1, are amongst my absolute top football highlights.
  14. Shitting it. It'll be rocking at Elland Road.
  15. Then he scored on his PL debut for Southampton too
  16. Just think the heights we could've hit this season if Rafa hadn't let Adam Armstrong go.
  17. And me - howay man it's really clutching to be trying to get a pen for that, Shearer's being a bit embarrassing.
  18. Arsenal have been bottlers but they're clearly up for today. Some of our fans are going to be proper embarrassing when things don't go our way as we get better. We saw it under Bobby and seeing glimpses today.
  19. I think from that year onward we always changed the away and both keeper shirts annually, even though the home shirt was kept for every two years up until 2009. Monkey making I assume. (We did change the away outfield in 96 - from the burgundy hoops to the grey one).
  20. Thought he was one of their better performing players.
  21. Yes, there was that greeny one as the home one, but I think they used them pretty interchangeably.
