The years of mediocrity under Ashley were terrible, but the games towards the end of the first relegation were class in a way. I think only a trophy being at stake rivals with the intensity of being right in a relegation fight - so much felt at stake in that Middlesbrough win, Stoke away, Villa Park. And cos you're shit the goals are so precious. Carrol scoring at Stoke was an amazing high.

I think they have one of the best supports and grounds in the league. I also like to see all the major northern cities have a team in there and particularly Leeds as the closest one to us of that cluster.
