  1. I would imagine the club would be receptive to a sort of singing section (although logistics might be an issue). I'd think WF add significant actual monetary value to the club, having a good atmosphere and fans is part of our 'brand' and thus serves the owners.
  2. I accrued well over a 100 points and passed them to a friend when I left the country - I use them when I go back, but obviously he's going to want to go to this one, so I wouldn't be able to get a ticket through normal channels. I gambled and bought a re-sale Club Wembley ticket the night we were drawn against Southampton. It was extortionate, but looks like a bargain compared to what they're up to now. When I bought them it didn't let you choose an end (as it did later). I e-mailed and asked for our end weeks ago, they said they'd try, but I can't bank on it. I'll be flying from Vancouver for the match. I'll probably work remotely in Newcastle for the week before going back. Not sure about accom yet, might stay with a friend. I don't really earn enough to live like this but I'd be devastated not to be there - and I've got a credit card loaded with debt, what's a bit more
  3. He was in the video yesterday where Ashby's meeting players in the training room. Whatevr that means. Has he had a knock? From what I can see last time he was on bench was Leicester away. The difference in bench since then is Isak and Lewis in for Fraser and Targett (Also Wilson starting instead of Wood, who was out that game). So maybe there's just not room for an attacker now he's down the pecking order when all the others are fit.
  4. There'll be a bit of that, but honestly I think most the media would be buzzing for us to win a trophy. It'll piss other fans off. ---- I was only 8/9 at the last two finals but I remember them pretty well and I was there. This already feels a lot different cos even if we're not favourites, we've got a fighting chance. Felt like it'd take a proper fluke result to win either of the last two.
  5. Man City have won 6 of the last 9, with the other three winners being ManU, Chelsea, and Liverpool. Just watch the players, fans and managers in any of the finals. We're probably going to be playing 3rd/4th placed ManU. We haven't won a domestic trophy since 1955. The reason it's going to be hard to beat ManU is because they're going to really want to win it too. We played a second string in the early FA Cup round. it's not the most prestigious trophy but the idea that it's a 'tinpot' trophy is just not born out by reality. Cannot fathom anyone living their life as a Newcastle fan all these years and turning their nose up at the League Cup.
  6. tbf I forget to thank @Sexy Beast for them knocking Man City out, giving us an easy route to the final and making me confident enough to start making arrangements even before the semi was played - saving a load of money. Thanks pal.
  7. I've got the 2020 match on 'in full' Not going to watch it all like, but soaking up the beginning and stuff. The Carabao big wigs shake all the players' hands
  8. aye Can my har dad, mates, everyone "what the fuck's this shite"
  9. I went to a Kraken game last year and found it massively cringey, but might just be my stubborn britishness about that kind of thing Mackelmore was trying to get the crowd going at one point. Almost got my toon top (referee's jersey as someone called it) on the big screen.
  10. "cup specialists Newcastle United" edit: So last time we won a domestic cup we were playing against ten men cos they got an injury and there were no subs, and one of the players was in the country because he came as a PoW. It's been a bit
  11. Got nothing against Southampton but couldn't resist a peruse of their message board https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/topic/59853-southampton1-1-2-3newcastle-league-cup-semi-final-second-leg/page/19/ (Also they seem to hate Jones)
  12. Wasn't even on the bench, I assumed because he was going.
  13. His footwork at the beginning of the move for the first goal was class.
  14. Not a real cup like the Papa John's.
  15. There was a sentimental part of me that likes having one of the promotion lads in and around the team. We've still got Ritchie and Lascelles, but Shelvey, while not a starter, was the only one left that I thought might play some significant role (e.g. if Bruno were to be out..)
  16. Be loads of talk about our mega rich owners, but it didn't take mad Saudi cash to get us to a cup final. What a couple of wasted decades. Fuck it though, howay.
  17. Got the winner against Tranmere to send us on our way to Wembley
