TBH I think its a joke people saying he is a totally cack defender. He is not, he has the potential to be a class player, is only young, oh and he played alongside shitus bumble, broomsong, carr, baba etc in last few seasons. Now how is a young defender gonna learn from that shower of shite. I personally think taylor will come on leaps and bounds this season under allardyces training and guidance and playing alongside both elegant centre halfs and uncompromising hard tackling centre halves. He worked alongside defenders last season that just did not have a clue and for a manager who was as clueless. Young players need experienced players to learn from. I remember when terry first came through and everyone was saying he's not that good and he did not look as good as ferdinand or campbell but now he is number one centre half for club and country and is highly influential. yet he does not posess great speed, he is just a tough tackler and never gives up. I think taylor has some key attributes that if worked with properly will see him be a top centre half. You don't catch the eye of the top four if your crap. Ferguson, mourinho and benitez are no mugs thats for sure

I think taylor and ramage play for the shirt out of local lads. I also think given and solano love the club and play for the shirt now also. I also think milner plays for the shirt and gives his all for this club. I can't question nicky butt in the last season neither he has given his all for the club. I think allardyce has in his mind to play Geremi, Barton and emre in a midfield 3 eventually With duff left and milner right, or martins/ owen etc. With the duke as lone centre forward in the 4-3-3. I think diarra would be a tremendous signing for the defensive midfiel role in a 4-3-3. I would like to see. Diarra barton emre milner duff viduka or owen and martins either side of viduka

what about butt I thought butt was our best player in first half he looks very fit at the moment and seemed to cover every inch of grass. Got stuck in, spread the play looked to have an extra yard of pace. I thought solano and geremi both looked fit and strong. And I thought rozenthal looked very composed indeed. very elegant footballer by the looks of it. Martins tried but needs somebody like viduka beside him tbh. Milner full of running but needs help further up the pitch. One thing is for sure only player that should play against bolton that started tonight in defence is rozenthal. the rest of them were terrible off the ball positionally

Allardyce has it right in my opinion. If they dont want to play for the shirt I dont want them here. That applies to all players and is the way it should be The bloke speaks more sense than any newcaslte manager in last ten years
