So decisive. He would get so much credit if he changed it with Perez, Aarons and Dr Jong starting and Anita, Wijnaldum in centre. Starting to think the back 4 is fine. Drop Cisse and Colback and Sissoko. Put Thauvin right and Aarons left
-
Don't just say tempted ffs. Be decisive and say i'm making changes because they are shit. If Perez doesn't start and Wijnaldum isn't dropped to centre mid at the very least then he has learned absolutely nothing
-
Yup. It's been the same ever since we tried to do this 4-2-3-1. We've never had it working, at all. Regardless of personel/coach/manager. In theory it would work with 2 decent centre mids and front 4 attacking but you need the 3 attacking mids to be creative and comfortable on the ball and instead we had Sissoko and Wijnaldum that don't seem to suite the roles given. It ends up with moves breaking down because both players struggle to play in tight spaces. It needs players like perez, maybe aarons to open teams up with their flexibility and guile allowing Sissoko n Wijnaldum to offer a threat from deep. Neither suite their current role. Mind not sure Sissoko suits any role

West ham had 1 up front but plenty of support from midfield. We isolate our striker too much
-
And he can't pass, or dribble really. Therefore as a player he is worse than most.
-
He hasnt looked good through the middle. His best games were his first season against Villa n Chelsea. He has been disappointing sinc
-
f*** off man. He can't pass 5 yards. He's shockingly bad, runs in constant straight lines and has absolutely no awareness, first touch or class No He's been a part of the best play we've seen over the last couple of years and, on his day, is a real force. He's not s*** in any way, shape or form and to suggest he is is pure, unadulterated hyperbole. We've not had a "best play" in last 2 years. We have been garbage. He is supposed to be a centre mid and can't dominate at all despite his size and pace. He might win 100 metres but can't play football
-
Auxiliary centre half by the looks of it.

Fuck off man. He can't pass 5 yards. He's shockingly bad, runs in constant straight lines and has absolutely no awareness, first touch or class

Agree about Perez but totally disagree about Sissoko based on his time here as he just doesn't perform often enough to merit it, although I would like a run of games with him in midfield to see if it is that he is being playing incorrectly or if in fact he actually isn't that really that much of a player. Sissoko is shit. Perez should start every fucking time. A class above in terms of effort and ability. His control and awareness at times is fantastic, yet he gets benched - ludicrous
-
Absolutely fucking dreadful tonight. Doesn't deserve a place
-
They just look so slow. When they get the ball they give Sunderland time to get back. Sunderland are getting it forward as quick as they can. Not loads of quality but much quicker than they have been
-
Not sure if it's Sunderland looking much better or Spurs being completely shit. They have nothing about them except Kane
-
This. Give him more than a few games ffs. It comes with the territory of wanting an aggressive striker. He will come good. Lad in front of me saying too slow and liability and other pro's told him he was terrible. This season is about patience. All change and tbh looks promising early on.

It's because they have awful fans and pink seats. It makes them look outwardly at other teams. I work with a few of them that go for fucking afternoon tea on a Saturday, don't even bother watching any of it and then chat shit about their team each week. I watch them play more than they do
-
That's what I don't get. Prior to Bent - ie when you got relegated at our place - all half and half badges nonsense on there, cringemaking stuff. Then we buy Bent and they absolutely hate us. The fact of the matter is, they didn't have to sell Bent. It's not like it was a John Stones situation with mega money being offered. We offered the money, they took it. Also, while the Bent thing was going through, the internet was awash with Sunderland fans saying "OMG! But we are in the top six and Villa are in a relegation fight! How can he leave!" as if being in the top six in January means you're a top six club. Only for us to go on to finish above them. Despite them having what was probably their best top flight finish in years. Their crowds are quite impressive, but then again, they're one club I've heard mentioned numerous times as giving an absolute s*** load of tickets away every game. Don't worry mate, we despise the horrible cunts as well. They call us deluded but i'm fairly sure it's them that are. They also have a massive chip on their shoulder and spend more time obsessing over other teams than over their own squad of shit
-
Obviously hope he does by next Wed as well :-). It is starting to look much stronger in attacking sense and can't argue much with the work being done so far but defensive mid and defence needs sorting / organised to give us a solid base. Not many teams below top 6 have ability we have going forward but we need to show it. Mitro, Cisse and Perez surely have 20-30 goals in them and then we have Thauvin,De Jong, Wijnaldum, Sissoko, Aarons that should produce around 20-30 goals as well. Hope our defence can improve

What match are you thinking would be? We're at home to the essentially possession winners of the league. We need a dude like SDJ in the squad. He isn't quick enough as we'll be generally playing on the counter when we do get it. I presume it will be Thauvin in for Obertan and Sissoko in for Perez from the last game with Anita the deeper one in a three with Colback and Wijnaldum with Wijnaldum hopefully having licence to attack when we get it. It's a tough one because you know Perez will work hard and always follow his man which will be important against the Arsenal full backs and he will also keep possession but Sissoko is probably our best player and Thauvin has to start after his performance last night you would think. I'd prefer Sissoko in the middle instead of Colback but can't see that happening On current form it has to be Sissoko and Wijnaldum in the middle of the pitch with Perez and Thuvin as the wide players. You cant have two midfield players in Colback and Anita who will only play 5 - 10 yard balls sideways and backwards and without the physical presence also. Personally I would have Tiote in the defensive midfield spot as he has the physical presence to win the ball but if he is not, then out of the other two Anita would get the nod over Colback - I put money on now though that both Colback and Anita will play meaning Perez will be dropped as it looks like Sissoko will be back and in my opinion that will be a shocking decision. Tiote is too much of a liability these days. I used to love his physical play but he is slow, fouls all the time and can't pass the ball.

The League Cup 15/16 - Sheffield Wednesday (h) in third round
nufc4eva replied to summerof69's topic in Football
Fans of other clubs and media really have no idea do they. All we want is a team that has a go. I would love to win the league but realistic to know the gap in quality and finance is likely to prevent this. -
Nooooooo not Willo man des :-) nice we are scoring a few for once
