Cautiously excited has to be the best summary iv seen. Im actually shakin a little! cant beleive it!

I can't always fully participate in my threads because I have work to do, and I take a great deal of pride in always meeting my targets. Footie comes second because work pays for footie! Fair enough, just recall seeing you start a "controversial" thread once and not appearing again until about 6 or 7 pages later.

Doesnt Brazilianbob do this sort of thing often, im sure i can remember him creating a thread in the past saying something that is bound to get lots of response and then doesnt come back for ages whilst the thread builds up pages.

nowt to do with it, we need a new keeper, Given is not good enough. If you stuck Nesta, Ferdinand, Zambrotta and Ramos in the defence then perhaps he'd be able to get away with awful positioning and the organisational skills of Mr Bean, but that isn't gonna happen, a change, asap The bloke may have his faults but that is way over the top. This kind of attitude is a major part of the reason why the club is in the shit it is in now to be honest.

I dont see what the problem is here, Ashley is not running the club, its Mort, simple as that really.

Since I’m on a night shift, bored at work I thought I’d have my say, so… I’ve had a while to dwell on this now and I still think its fucking pathetic that he's been sacked. I genuinely think that given time he would have been the right man for the job. Looking at the alternative managers potentially available to us (especially if it supposed to be a British manager), I can’t say I’d be happy with many of them if they were to be appointed. Moyes – has had years at Everton and if I remember correctly they nearly got relegated under him. He will not get the time he has had at Everton with us. Hughes – Same as Moyes, has had years at Blackburn, they are improving each season but to be honest they still aren’t anything special. McClaren – Has absolutely nothing to offer as a top manager in my opinion. Redknapp – Granted, he will likely bring in some decent players but he is a similar manager to Allardyce at the end of the day. Martin O’Neill – Wouldn’t be a bad replacement but would again need time. For the people wanting Mourinho. He would obviously be a very good appointment, and while the results would probably be right, they would likely be boring, ground out results. Would the fans put up with this? If anyone would be likely to get away with that style of play it would be him, if the results were right. Also, would he even come? I’d be surprised. To be honest, with the state of the club, why would anyone in their right mind come? The expectation is through the roof and the patience is ridiculously thin. Going by the managers listed above, (excluding Mourinho), all of the managers available are at best a sideways step from Allardyce. Looking abroad in my opinion is the only way a manager is going to be given time to succeed. Also, unless the board have someone lined up to come in straight away the transfer windows is pretty much wasted at a time when we really do need to sign a few players and make improvements. I think that it’s likely that a major reason behind his sacking is the fans. Granted Allardyce really hasn’t helped himself with his team selection, tactics, and the actual performances being turned in by the players but I don’t think that this alone would have been enough considering when you look at the grand scheme of things we are still sitting mid table in what has to be considered a transition season. The fans have been almost stupidly impatient considering we haven’t won anything for years and the hostility towards the manager and the players is almost a joke. It seems quite clear that Ashley wants to please the fans and just could not see Allardyce turning the fans in his favour. Chances are though; no manager is really going to be able to take the club anywhere until Shearer has had his go. On the plus side though, all ties to pre Mort/Ashley have now pretty much been severed so this means we will now see what their real intentions, plans and ideas for the club are.

out of both cups to arsenal.... if we make it past stoke!
-
Spence, not every game was 8-0 was it, it took time was what I was getting at.
-
I voted Ferdinand, but I was tempted to vote Hamann, he was brilliant in his season for us, I'll always remember that goal against Arsenal.
-
Not really all of the time is it? It's becoming more and more frequent. I'm sure Bobby wants what's best for the club but what he's doing is not going to help. I don't see how its causing a problem though really ? Its gonna do a lot more than not saying anything.

Robson has got every right to pass comment on the state of the club. What he says is what most of us are thinking so I don't think he's too far away from telling it as it is. The bloke can do whatever he wants but he was in a similar position to Allardyce a few years back, and had a respected figure been coming out critisizing him I dont think he would have appreciated it. Besides, he's no saint, some of his decisions where just as odd and the beginning under Bobby wasn't brilliant, it was a case of steadying the ship. Allardyce is 20 games in. At the end of the day I dont think what he is doing is benefitting the club.

Am I the only one that is getting annoyed with Bobby coming out with stuff all the time? He's IMO beginning to come accross a bit bitter being critical all the time. Maybe Allardyce should shit himself when its too late in the 75th minute and throw 3 subs on as well. I appreciate the good he did for the club, but after all, he set the ball rolling towards the shit we are in now.

£80m for C Ronaldo is absurd, I can't think of a word for an £80m bid for the fat 31 year old Ronaldo Didnt he lose a shed load of weight over the summer? Oh well, let me just get my cheque book!

I have to disagree i am not saying officals are bent, but the decisions that have gone against us in the last two games have cost us the macth end of story. They have played a part, not cost us the matches. We did that ourselves. an offside goal in the 80 something minute, didn't cost us a point? two blatant red cards and another offside decision going against us wouldn't have completely turned the game in our favour? You could say letting in the first goal cost us three points. If, if, if. Fact is if we took our chances we'd be doing better. We didn't. We're not. I agree to an extent with what you are saying, but a lot of teams will play as well/bad as we have done in the last few games, get that little bit of luck and win games, our luck has been rotten recently.

A dodgey pen against Fulham in the 90th min gave us an extra 2 points. pretty much stone wall pen tbh

He's just seriously off form, he's still a very good player.

you've posted that 8 years too early mate It took him 8-years to turn a very good Championship side, into a respectable mid-table Premiership side. People can go on about the lack of money, scientific techniques, etc...but at the end of the day, that's all he did. In this day and age, no manager would get 8 years. Whilst we gradually improve (or not), teams that could be considered similar to us move further away ie. Villa, Everton, City, Spurs. And all of this nonsense about Fergie getting the time to change it around that the media trots out winds me up because that was 20 years ago. He would not get that opportunity today as times have changed and the pressure to stay in the Premiership and make money is too great. You do have to strike a balance though, you cant expect a manager to come in, makeover the whole club, and expect everything to be rosey in 20 games. Apart from Man City being a rare exception; Everton, Villa and Spurs have all taken a few years to get where they are.
-
We may not be playing particularly well at the moment, but we are also getting some rotten luck as well. We could have been a goal or two or a man or two up by half time yesterday, but instead the rub of the green went against us and we went in a goal down, which by the looks of things affected the confindence of the players. Similar situation against Chelsea, IMO we at least deserved a draw, but we lose to a hand ball going against us for one goal and a blatantly offside goal for the other. The performances need major improvement, but we are still due a bit of luck.

Im glad Emre's on but it should be Butt going off.
-
I dont think he's even been doing that much recently though, he's so quick but doesnt look like he wants to open up. He seems to always want more time than he has as well. I dont know if its a confidence thing but he looks like he struggling with simple things a professional footballer shouldnt struggle with at the moment.

If serious what a bollocks post.
