  1. Excuse the pun , there really shouldn't be a "but" in this post. Behind closed doors is a completely different kettle of fish n'est ce pas?
  2. Kammy just mistakenly called Guidetti, Gaddafi. Cue a minute of uncontrolled laughter by Kammy, Shepherd and guest Malky Mackay.
  3. Not really its just that to get these players they will have to beat teams with even more money and just as much pulling power historically. It's not as if they are going after players we want, they are going after players Barca, Madrid, Bayern and so on and so forth want. Their pulling power isn't an advantage when they are going up against people with just as much pulling power. They're trying to compete domestically first. It's Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City they've got to outperform in the transfer market. And generally they will irrespective of CL qualification position. They and Liverpool are the biggest clubs in England. Absolutely no doubt about that. Never denied any of that, just if the Pogba rumors are true, their pulling power is not gonna give them much of an advantage over Real Madrid etc etc. Of course they will still always remain competitive as their brand is so f*cking huge but can they beat the likes of Bayern, Barca and Madrid to players? its a legitimate question to ask tbf. The Pogba rumours have absolutely nothing to do with Manchester United and their pulling power though . I'd say it's more a hell hath no fury.... reason.
  4. Chesney Zabaleta Terry Koscielny Azpilicueta Toure Gerrard Ramsey Hazard Suarez Aguero
  5. If we could have signed them two, and I believe Wright would've been possible at that time, Sheedy I doubt would've come then as he was orchestra leader of that fine Everton side of the mid 80s and I'm certain Howard Kendall would've resisted offers for him, then we would have been top 6ish and challenging for Europe imo.
  6. Welbeck always looks bright when I watch either Manchester United or England. Has a terrific attitude.
  7. Yes merlin, well said. And Wullie too. The difference between the 70s, 80's era and now is the hope that we had then isn't there now. And with justification. When the club are telling us 8th is the target and cups aren't any kind of priority, why would there be? If we'd backed Arthur Cox im sure we'd have been alright. If we'd employed a different type manager after Arthur Cox and not a dour long ball merchant, I think we'd have done alright too.
  8. My temper would be seething and anyone sitting in row Z would be in terrible danger
  9. How would you get the best out of them? I'll pretend you haven't spent the last 18 months (rightly, mostly) accusing Pardew of not getting the best out of each player in the squad while failing to answer the same question. For a start, I'd stop trying to contain even the poorest sides first and grab the odd goal second. I love the amount of people on here that defend Hughton, find it rather amusing. 'Not his signings' 'only decent players' 'not his fault they aren't performing'...astonishing stuff! Beating your enemies 5-1 as opposed to regularly getting hooped lube free by them might be one place to start.
  10. They will get a huge name on the world stage you can guarantee. My guess would be Guardiola.

  12. Suing the Football League because you're trying to buy your way out of it with money you don't have Cunts. And of course Leicester have previous in regard to financial irregularities. Cunthole of a club.
  13. Manchester United still attracted the Bryan Robsons of this world when they were shit. It's as much a Busby legacy as it is Taggart's
  14. If it was Chelsea in this position I'd wholeheartedly agree. It's not. It's arguably the biggest name in World football.
  15. Exactly what people said about Liverpool...how many league titles since the 80s? That was down to bad management mainly. They still attracted big name players though and still won trophies just not the League. I mean how does a team like Liverpool attract say a Suarez? Money is one factor but im sure Liverpool's history is a big pulling power as would Manchester United's.
  16. People are seriously underestimating Manchester United and their pulling power here. They are historically one of the biggest clubs in the World if not the biggest. They will get their transfer targets without CL football as long as Moyes or whoever is allowed to spend.
  17. Spot on there. He was awful in the relegation season and didn't look capable of adapting at all. He wasn't awful at all. He was horribly exposed by the Kev and Nicky masterclass going on in the centre of the park in front of him every week. There was that to factor in too, you're quite right. And of course the third stooge, Smudger.
  18. He was piss poor in the relegation season but with all of the shite Ashley caused it's really no wonder. I recall labelling him gutless after the Villa game where he was in my eyes , shocking. But in the Keegan games you could see what a good player he was. He had an excellent debut at Old Trafford. And of course he was way too good for the Championship.

He's surrounded by technically excellent players, no wonder he looks good. Looks the worst of the lot in my opinion and he's an average footballer. If anything, Sterling has impressed me the most, kid is looking better every day. I never understood the point of him at all until this season but he has come on a bundle thus making your critique unfair imo. Contributes nigh on every match.

There used to be a player at Coventry called Craig Pead.
  21. Demichelis let Borini run past him and failed to cover back. Lescott would've bust a gut to get back imo even if he'd let him past in the first place. Kompany should have easily dealt with that, all he has to do is shepherd him down the line, instead he commits himself and let's him in. He perhaps missed the run, but the rest is all on kompany I agree Kompany is the biggest culprit but Demichelis was also at fault. It wasn't just the passing of responsibility onto Kompany but the failure of trying to get back imo.

  23. You beat me to it 1 game in charge, win against Leeds(?). Blackburn wasn't it? Humped them, they were awful...we hired their manager who was leaving. Souness. Leaving? Was about to be fired and then we poached him and paid them compo. Unbelievable when you look back at some of the shite stuff we've done.
  24. He won't want to do too well or he might incur his bosses wrath.
