  1. Im surrounded by spurs fans where i live and 95% of them prefer Lennon over Townsend which tells you everything you need to know about Townsend. Townsend looked bright for England and that's why he's in. The first choice thing is bollocks because the top 4-6 teams rotate anyhow. Glad to see Shaw in and hope he gets a trot. Would obviously have liked to see Cleverley fucked off maybe for Livermore who's been excellent of late.
  2. And yet his Liverpool side of 1987-88 is probably the best attacking side and best to watch I've seen. Wonder how many goals John Aldridge would score in the modern era? Just a goal machine. He had some fairly good service providers that season. But he was immense. I felt Dalglish got it wrong by bringing Rush back and freezing him out.

  5. Real Madrid are very good under Carlo with plenty of room to manoeuvre improvement wise.
  6. In our world of course nothing is free as they add the wage on to any transfer fee don't they?
  7. Tron is obviously talking about the fashion in which the game is played. Perhaps "correct" is the wrong word to use. I guess if you had a team of small players, then using the Wimbledon style would be incorrect would it not? *clearsthroatanditsoundslikethewordPardew
  8. Titter ye not Ronaldo, don't make me bump the post where I predicted Rodgers would turn Liverpool around. Just like I correctly predicted Man U won't finish in a CL position this year More the fact you think there's a correct and incorrect way of playing football. Isn't there?
  9. Exactly right, and till Ashley goes i have no faith in our long term progress. A few months ago you were prattling on about how we were going to win a trophy. When? Saying what? Fairly sure this is bollocks, like. Yet even saying this, any team with a half decent side and a bit of luck can win a trophy. They can just come completely out the blue but i've never banged on how we'll deffo win one? I think a necessity is trying to win one first though.
  10. Actually, we are, too. Which is about as laughable as you adhering to it. I've a feeling there's an increasingly wide ranging acceptance at clubs like us and you that, to make the jump into the CL places is prohibitively expensive, and the increase in earnings from 3 or 4 places higher up the league (when you are in the middle) doesn't really justify the risk and expense involved in having a punt at it. So what they do instead is talk about managing wage bills, being FFP compliant, "seeking value" (that's us and our £1m lower league players, which is fine when it is one or two, but not the whole squad almost) and reining in expectations. I have thought for a while that FFP adherence is manna from heaven for owners who want to limit their exposure. Managing the expenditure and generally bobbing along, not getting relegated and ensuring a certain level of income is where it's at for them. I'm fine about FFP as a principle. It's far better if clubs undertake to stay within their means. It won't produce complete equality, but it would be an improvement. The problem will be the willingness or lack of it on the part of UEFA, to enforce the rules against clubs that cheat. Sadly, they've already broadcast a lack of determination rather loudly. So would I be if everyone played by it.
  11. You're missing out the elephant in the room.
  12. Inconsistencies at the start such 15th, 7th, 17th, 4th and 11th. It took time before he finally established himself. When you’re on the verge of the sack a few times, you are clearly encountering some problems but they stuck by him even if there was pressure from fans/media. I'm not saying Pardew needs same length of time, it's more of a case how long would we stick by Moyes to rebuild? Especially under Ashley where money won't be thrown at him. Our fans are known to be impatient and if Moyes was struggling for results whilst also not playing good football, I’m not sure our fans would have the patience to stand by him. Yeah but he wasn't really doing either.
  13. They'll have to. And no doubt with Rooney's wages rise, incoming players will want their pay comparable.
  14. No they don't. Well people should maybe take that into account when Pardew has only had one bad season in the league here, looks like he's going on to have another good league finish, so that would be two good finishes and one poor one. Wasn't like Moyes constantly had Everton playing fancy football throughout his time. He had good spells and bad spells but Everton stuck with him and it paid off even when there was big rumours he was on the brink of the sack a couple of times during his reign. Then he had no cup success either for Everton so not like he can brag about that either and arguably Everton’s biggest game for him in charge was CL qualifier and he lost that too. Not denying he's better than Pardew and for me personally i would actually have him here but it wouldn't bother me if produced s*** football and got the results. As for Man Utd, they should never have hired him as he isn't at that standard of quality and way out of his depth. They will be too stubborn to sack him now but they are only delaying the inevitable imo. He's not a world class manager and Man Utd should have one of them in charge, not fannying about with just a good PL manager. Why should they? Pardew is a fucking clueless bellend while Moyes had his sides playing with a decent style and which mainly punched above their weight.
  15. Plus he wasn't allowed or wanted to totally rebuild when he took over. We all saw last season that they needed major investment, even though they won the league.
  16. He was also very good until KK got forced out too.
  17. I didn't think Everton played unattractive football and indeed were very easy on the eye at times tbh.
  18. Im not saying he wasn't. Im saying he was better the season before. I can only really think of the Bolton bollocking where he wasn't good. That the game he was getting mullered by Johan Fucking Elmander so he gave him a cheeky elbow to the bracket? Yep
  19. Im not saying he wasn't. Im saying he was better the season before. I can only really think of the Bolton bollocking where he wasn't good. That doesn't mean to say he regressed the following season because he wasn't making games look as easy as he was in the championship. He had a great season against far tougher opposition? Beyond me how that's regressing I'm not talking about the fucking Championship season am I?

  21. 2-3 years? It's only 2 yars ago he was in team of the season for the PL is it not? So? The season we came up was his best season for us in MY opinion so the 2-3 years after that in MY opinion he wasn't as good as the previous so in MY opinion he has regressed. He was voted in the best PL team for our 2nd season up when we finished 5th! I know he was but that really doesn't mean he wasn't better the season before that does it?
  22. So why are you sensationalising it for you fucking duck egg? You're agreeing I'm right. Im not saying he's shite like people were saying about Tiote either. I'm saying he isn't as good as he once was. Simples. Even your
