  1. He was unbelievable on football games, could score from anywhere. In real life I can't really remember!
  2. Will be amazing when we never have to see his weasel face on MOTD again.
  3. I think it's right to put it out, until the directive about not doing so becomes common practice. If it even still exists.
  4. From a moral standpoint that is difficult to disagree with. However do you think we should do it even when it is clear that the oppositon would not show the same level of sportsmanship? Personally yes, but I'm a softy really. I know there is this vague directive about the referee deciding when the game stops, but in practice it doesn't work like that. I guess if it was clear that other teams are starting to continue playing all the time then we should do it too, but at the moment it's very much against the convention.
  5. It's spot on, our defence without Saylor is actually pretty terrible. Santon will come good and Simpson will go out, but we have to wait a bit for those.
  6. Does that mean it was the right thing to do?
  7. If an opposition player is injured, we should put the ball out. I'm not going to criticise anyone for that. Out players have worked hard and shown they cared this season, that's all I want from them. The way some players surround and abuse referees is disgusting.
  8. I'd love a good performance, but putting three points on the board will take the pressure of everyone a bit as well. Seems like ages since we had a win. Would be nice if it's a good one, but not essential.
  9. I think Santon and HBA on the same flank lacks any kind of solidity, and Raylor is a terrible fullback. Simpson doesn't deserve to be dropped for Raylor based on last night's performance.
  10. RvP also nearly scored another goal by getting across Williamson and shooting straight at Krul. Not that that's necessarily bad, RvP is a razor-sharp mover.
  11. I know he might want to very his career and have a change eventually, but he could also just accept that he's been lucky enough to inherit the best football team ever and just enjoy it for as long as he can.

    Alan Pardew

Has anyone actually said any of that? These phantom posters cause a lot of trouble on here.

    Alan Pardew

Everyone knows how footballers take the easy option sometimes when they're under pressure. They don't even get criticised for it usually, lumping the ball into the channels is a standard part of all levels of football. Yes, Pardew should be telling his defenders to play it out more, and his midfielders to show for it short. I hope he is doing that. The thing about spending four out of five days working on stopping the opposition is worrying to be fair, it doesn't sit right with how we would like our team to approach games.
  14. Very pleased with the way he has responded to not playing. Sounds like he's kept his head down and worked hard and been patient. Good to see.

    Alan Pardew

I don't think anyone has said this is all the squad is capable of TBF. What some people have pointed out is that we have players who lack confidence and technique in positions that are supposed to start moves - GK, CB and FB. Obviously it's Pardew's job to address these things like, that's fair enough.
  16. McClean needs to keep his head down and work hard until he actually becomes a footballer. Fucking plank.
  17. lol i accept the lad is in a new country for less than a season but to blame his perfomances on language barrier? really?? i mean how many words of english do you need to know in a football match. lol http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shift_key

    Alan Pardew

Fulham first half was class, makes the second half all the more bizarre really.
  19. No idea TBH, still don't know where 5 minutes of added time came from. There were a couple of substitutions but that's about it.
  20. If we finish above Liverpool I for one will be gutted that their kit sponsorship is more than ours.
  21. Can't remember wanting a win as badly as this for ages. Come on lads!!
  22. Aye, I'm not saying I always agree with Pardew's approach, I just mean the plan against Arsenal would have been seen in a better light if we hadn't thrown the ball to them in the 94th minute. For me Pardew is a pragmatist more than he is negative, he just doesn't mind doing what he thinks will get the result. In this case it didn't quite work, but it wasn't far off.
  23. Fair assessment IMO. I'm gutted still about the winner but we followed a pretty sensible gameplan and it was seconds away from working. The aim would have been to still be in the game with 20 minutes to go or whatever, and avoid a Spurs-style collapse. We managed that, we just invited a bit too much pressure and conceded due to a brain-freeze from an individual player. It's gutting, but it's too easy to go overboard with the criticism because of the nature of the defeat.
