    Maybe when Welbeck retires.
  2. Rumours are getting worse, ‘internally discussed’ FFS, what are you on about?

Definitely think we must want JP for his link-up play and awareness etc more than anything else. To get more from our other attacking players. He does a lot of great work around the halfway line with little touches, hold up play and keeping possession moving. Don't see him playing RW at all though, that would be nothing like what he's good at. So must be a formation change in some games or rotation with Isak.

I mean, 2 or 3 good seasons would be more than most clubs get from most players.

‘Set to push to land’ is a very funny phrase.
  7. Aye I know. I just think it’s counterproductive to be setting up expectations that we basically know won’t be met. And if we can’t be happy with our football club after the season we’ve just had, we never will be.
  8. I guess every club wants signings as early as possible but I can’t remember ever reliably getting our business done by the first week of July.
  9. I hope so but I don’t necessarily expect. The earlier the better of course.
  10. Still think mid July is the time we should even start to be concerned about activity. Summer barely even started.
  11. He's not anything like Gareth Bale TBH, I thought he would be before he arrived but he's much more defensively-focused. Lazy chat.

I find Brighton’s approach depressing in a lot of ways but you could never compare it to Ashley. Brighton do it because it’s the way they think they can survive/compete in the PL best. I think it’s boring and soulless and I would never want it for us, but I guess if they can’t generate the money for a more ambitious approach. It’ll keep them around the right end of the PL for as long as they get the signings right.

Don't think Guehi had anything to do with it, he was just professional and continued to play for Palace.
  14. Bruno also covers almost the most ground in the PL IIRC. Probably not as intensely mind.
  15. Last time I built a FIFA team you only needed Tonali in CM to win the quadruple.
  16. It is not understandable to be concerned about no business yet. It’s mad.
  17. Yeah definitely, hopefully that’ll be part of the plans and head off any objections about green space. FWIW I play tennis in Leazes Park and I still think it’s generally nice. At least at that end.
  18. Is it? Such as? The real transfer window hasn't even opened.
  19. I know which parks they are, but I don’t consider them usable in the same way as some London parks, for example. In those cases the parks are surrounded by the city, people live and work more around them. The park is more a part of everyday life. I guess also because most people don’t have a garden or any outside space at home. Maybe it’s just me.
  20. Ah OK, well I guess we don't know on that. If we are dismissing good players then we shouldn't be. It just seems that people are intent on this idea of Howe as only wanting expensive players from the PL.
  21. Well most of our signings have been undervalued or at least great value, and we don't just look for big money PL players. There'll always be loads of examples of players you could have had more cheaply or players you didn't sign that went on to do well.
  22. Hall is the man for LB anyway, so this has to be the answer.
