  1. I used to think that Fergie was the only thing keeping that club ticking over, but thinking about it, he keeps falling out with the best player in the team every 5 years. Yeah, but other than that he is doing as you thought. The big test will be Fergie's successor and his first couple of big signings. If they take a gamble on someone it could go tits up, if they go for Mourinho they will be fine.
  2. I would just go with Shola up front alone, play Routledge on the right and put Guthrie inside to attempt the attacking midfield role in rotation with Barton. Sadly Lovenkrands isn't up to it.
  3. I'd say Barton had a decent first half against Wigan, and got worse in the second. Tiote I think was the opposite. In general though, I think Barton has been improving. We should use Guthrie to pressure him for his place rather than play on the right.
  4. Yeah, I know he's been charged, I mean we don't actually know the details of the incident (or whether he's going to be found guilty) so it's a bit early to say Hughton should be "taking the moral stance" on it.
  5. Do we actually know what happened? Sorry if I missed it.
  6. Carroll currently seems a bit prone to doing stupid things... but it's far too early to talk about whether we should stand by him or not. He's only a very young lad, the change in him in the next few years could be remarkable if he's coached properly.

I have the same, my iPhone is totally unusable for the majority of the match and on the way home. Annoys the gf, who wants to know the Rochdale score!
  8. I think we're forgetting how much better this is than the last time we were in the Premiership. A lot of improvements have been made, even if all our weaknesses haven't been addressed.
  9. Was going to say, I agree about Bellamy and (maybe) Zog, but backing players over managers in general is pretty risky.
  10. Did a cracking job at Fulham like, given a few years he would probably rebuild Liverpool into a top 4-6 club. Obviously they have higher ambitions than that.
  11. And probably his lifestyle and fitness. The problems he's had in England, imagine the Spanish skirt. Aye, he'll be kept in some sort of football monastery in the mountains with only fruit and vegetables and a weekly visit from Coleen (if she's speaking to him still).
  12. See they've been leaving the special people alone with the desktop publishing software again.
  13. And probably his lifestyle and fitness.
  14. Man Utd are in for a sticky couple of years like, the dynasty is coming to an end.
  15. Every loss darkens the mood a bit, every win lightens it. It's going to be like that all season, we may as well accept it.
  16. TBH, if I was a class player like Torres I would also be unwilling to accept criticism from a clogger like Jamie Carragher. The thing I hate most in football is taking stick from my own teammates. FFS, I know I'm playing shit!

Also, they had kind of started to heal the wounds with the fans, then they go and shoot themselves in the foot again. It's just a silly move IMO, as a proof of concept it's only proved that no company in their right minds would want to sponsor the ground. We heard to dog's abuse Sports Direct was getting from the fans yesterday.... if anything they're harming their brand.
  18. TBH, he should leave the country for his own good. Can't see him wanting to learn Spanish or Italian, but suppose he might.
  19. Hodgson will be on his bike in the next couple of weeks IMO, as soon as the new owners have assessed the situation.
  20. The way Yakubu flattened that guy was class. That's the kind of robust play we want to see.
  21. It's difficult for forward to be swapped in and out of the team anyway... we won't see an improvement from any 442 unless we stick with the same two for at least 5 games IMO. I don't think we should be writing off Loverkrands, although he has looked poor so far.
  22. Or has been told not to comment on transfer rumours.
