  1. his comments pre game were disgraceful What did he say?
  2. Have you seen the fanzone videos on skysports.com... pretty hilarious http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid29318049001?bctid=655253236001
  3. Wooooooo!!!!! Shola was class today, obviously great goals from Nolan. Thought Barton drifted inside a bit much, but he might have been told to help out against the 5 man midfield. 10 out of 10s for everyone TBH, no more analysis needed.
  4. Think this basically sums up the situation at the moment.
  5. They write what they want anyway man, even clubs who haven't got Ashley's stinking record have stuff made up about them. You can't win either way... comment or no comment.
  6. One goal doesn't, but this team isn't good enough to drop a 1 goal in 2 player this season. His record was about 1 in 3 last season. It'll be 1 in 4 this time round. That would make him one of the most prolific midfielders in the league though. I don't rate him, but the problem we have is that his potential replacements aren't doing anything.
  7. Especially if he keeps wearing that suit. Basically this is a total non story, the fact it has gained so much coverage says much more about the press than it does about Hughton or his position.
  8. I used to watch him quite a bit for Reading, he looked class then. Then he committed career suicide by going to Chelsea... it's amazing what a couple of seasons hardly kicking a ball can do. Not to mention feeling you're inferior to everyone around you.
  9. I know, clearly Ali has missed his calling as a fascist dictator.
  10. Very surprised to see him talking about management. Doesn't come across as someone who cares about football enough to dedicate another 20 years to it.
  11. Usual atmosphere in the LC is about as good/better than our away following from what I can tell. Disagree... it's brilliant when things are going for us, but it turns against the team much more easily than the away fans.
  12. Think you might be onto something there... it's actually the most sensible explanation I can think of.
  13. The whole thing is basically just the press capitalising on those three poor results, combined with them trying to make a flimsy link with Calderwood leaving. There is no story, the media have created this from scratch.
  14. My brother and dad still say 'Horton'... I've told them a million times.
  15. In the Guardian sports section today, Louise Taylor starts her article with "Arsenal crushed Newcastle... despite Wenger sending out largely a reserve side". FFS Louise.
  16. Aye, but 2 wins and we're in the top 5... it's pointless to speculate like that so early in the season.
  17. If a home match is on when I'm coming home, I go. Probably about 5 or 6 a season. Make an effort to get to as many of the southern away games as I can... probably another 4 or 5 a season. Not enough really, but location and cost of travel is my excuse.
  18. His weaknesses at fullback seem to be more about positioning and tactical awareness than actual footballing ability. I always think fullback is one of the most difficult positions to play well... you can be exposed in so many ways.
  19. Stop it. I'm not stopping until I get Carroll known as the A-Train. I will desist with the Hughton one though.
  20. I wasn't referring to Calderwood leaving, I was thinking more along the lines that actions speak louder than words. Allowing Hughton to appoint a new number 2 would demonstrate their backing more than a statement. There may already be someone lined up & hopefully they are in place soon. It wasn't an attack on you mate, I was thinking of the media using Calderwood's departure as another flimsy reason to pile pressure on the C man. I'm sure they are planning to appoint a number two soon, just finding the right man. If anything I'm glad they haven't just mindlessly promoted someone from the staff because it's easy/cheap.
  21. Looking back off the top of my head: The Young penalty at SJP was soft albeit daft from Harper, definelty on contact though. Luckily Villa were that bad it didn't cost us. Henry should of been off at Wolves. Although Wolves should of had a penalty as some have pointed out. Nolan taken out at Everton. Coleman and Fellani lucky to finish the match as well. The Alex penalty at Chelsea. The absolute disgrace that was the City match. The second goal today. Luckily a few of them haven't cost us. Apparently they "even themselves out over a season". So after Christmas we should be in line for a shitload of points we don't deserve.
  22. I can't help but be worried about what Ashley might do... but all logic and reason says that Hughton is under no threat of the sack at the moment. There's just no reason for it at all.
