  1. A lot of bollocks gets talked about how the era of the centre forward is over and the strikers need to do more these days... I bet a load of teams would kill to have a young player like the A-Train in their sides, and most defenders hate playing against him. Really excited to see how he comes on in the next few years. Jail time allowing of course.
  2. Man City was the limit like, I literally couldn't believe what I was witnessing. Combined with the Tevez pen and the Ben Arfa injury it has to be the worst luck I've seen concentrated into one match for a long time.
  3. Nah, Perch's wasn't deliberate handball, neither were the Arsenal ones. There are far too many free kicks and pens given wrongly for stuff like that... right decisions IMO.
  4. Problem is we need him here as the third-choice striker really. Lovenkrands is terrible and it seems Xisco has some sort of infectious desease that means he can't be allowed near the first team squad.
  5. We have had nothing from referees like... although I'm probably forgetting some decisions that have gone for us (in the style of a football fan).
  6. Same, he always struck me as being quick enough over the first few yards especially.
  7. So basically the statement means that they will do what they were always planning to do anyway? And it isn't really a 'statement' anyway, it's just comments from a man.
  8. They have to or they wouldn't be able to sell Newspapers etc. Thank Rupert Murdoch for our shite media. Yeah I know, but at least before they needed an actual real source for a story. Now someone posts "Could Hughton be under pressure after three games without a win?" on Twitter and the next day it's a fact.
  9. Reporting something with other journalists as the source is becoming a pandemic at the moment, it's madness. Even the BBC publish stories with quotes from other reporters FFS. The media are well capable of turning something that is incredibly unlikely (i.e. Hughton getting sacked) into something that acquires some sort of fundamental truth.
  10. True, that should come with a bit of experience and some coaching from a decent ex-striker though. Not sure where we could send him, a Championship club in the north that plays attacking football.
  11. You're right, he looked promising. Is also physically a beast, which makes him hard to get off the ball. Enjoyed it when he flattened Sagna.
  12. It doesn't matter what they say in the press, as long as they don't sack him. Which they won't, and don't plan to. So it's fine.
  13. Also, Calderwood going had absolutely fuck all to do with the position of Hughton or the future of NUFC. He was always going to leave if an opportunity like that came up for him. Total shit again, linking two things that have absolutely nothing to do with each other.
  14. We need to remind ourselves of this fundamental truth every time we see some bollocks shat out by the latest god-awful excuse for a journo. The whole thing is mental and a creation of the media IMO.
  15. Ranger was one of your best players. Totally agree, thought he looked more than decent. Some surprisingly penetrating runs as well, which I don't normally associate with him.
  16. I think Ranger and Vuckic will turn out to be top players for us if we manage their development right... wish Nile had scored or dived when he rounded the keeper! In the end we deserved to get beat, but not by that much. Not much to be depressed or annoyed about, just the pecking order at the moment. Was surprised to see Hughton bring on the first team players, stupid decision IMO. I've seen it done by many managers in the cup mind, they really can't decide whether it matters or it doesn't.
  17. Don't understand bringing on Carroll and Jonas... if we don't care about the cup then why risk them? If we do care, why not play a strong team from the start?
  18. Fair play to the team though, they were putting up a decent fight until that.
  19. Will the brochure just say "Everyone gets injured, I'll be back again soon"?
  20. Well thanks for that As I said though, Arsenal are beatable, if we turn in a Chelsea performance we'll have a chance. They are obviously favourites, and we know they're capable of abusing teams on occasion.
  21. I just can't see any possible reason why Ashley would even consider getting rid of Hughton at the moment. He's doing a decent job, the fans aren't protesting as much, he's much cheaper than any alternative. I know Ashley is bonkers, but this would be too much.
  22. The Arsenal team is beatable, it's also capable of tearing us to shreds. Fingers crossed! Guess we know how they'll play, that's a minor plus. :-[
