  1. Yeah, I would agree with this. Injury is a risk, but he might equally get injured in training etc, so I wouldn't worry too much (touch wood).
  2. yes they won't die but they could easily get injured! And that injury could be fatal!
  3. I really don't want him to be hitting passes more than 10 yards, not necessarily anyway. If he develops a wider range of passing as he gets more comfortable then great, but at the moment I don't see it as a weakness at all. He retains possession.
  4. I would be (a bit) disappointed if we finished that low at the end of the season, but if I could guarantee survival now then I would probably take it. I couldn't face another season in the Championship, and losing some of our best players.
  5. I always thought Noble was quality, but then again I haven't watched him through many full 90 minuteses.
  6. I have forgotten about Alan Smith, for this alone Tiote deserves a medal.
  7. As I said, I thought that we would be better when not carrying Nolan, but it doesn't seem to be the ase so far. If Routledge was performing it would be easier to design a good side that doesn't include him, but at the moment it isn't. I would like to see us try a team without him for 5 or 6 weeks, but I can understand why Hughton doesn't think he can take the gamble. Let's just hope that he'll keep getting the goals if he I'd going to play.
  8. Well, a less stylish Mourinho then.
  9. Can't believe he finally wore a suit! I've been saying he should for months. I still haven't seen it, bu I imagine he looked like a more stylish Mourinho.
  10. I'm a certified Nolan hater, but I'm beginning to think that the idea that the team will do better when it isn't carrying him is a bit of wishful thinking. With the players we currently have, I'm starting to believe that we're better off with Nolan than without him. It's weird, because I still think he's not athletic enough for this league and he contributes not that much.
  11. Guess he did win the league with Chelsea, that was good.
  12. Is Clarke actually any good?
  13. He's a dead man walking in my expert view. Don't agree with any of those points in bold. I know one point from 3 games isn't good enough, but that's not the point. You can't possibly be saying we should judge him over 3 games? The point about Perch is a bit weird, how can one bad signing be more important than a number of good ones? And this isn't anything like the season we went down, to compare the two is ludicrous at this point. Against Wigan we looked poor, but I'm not convinced we looked like we didn't care. We certainly haven't for the rest of the games.
  14. I reckon Yakubu's one of the most effective forwards in the league when he's fit and up for it... always rated him highly.
  15. I reckon about 4.5 at the moment, think we're slightly more likely to survive.
  16. I'll be very happy, if it means the teams around us getting more beatings.
  17. I would stick with Carroll, he threatened a bit more towards the end of the Wigan game. I'd be tempted to play Shola with him, but I don't think that will happen.
  18. Many people at work seem to think Man Utd have done this to get him to play well til the end of the season, then move him on in the summer now his value is protected. Don't buy it myself.
  19. I always thought SWP gets far too much criticism, not sure why it is either. Whenever I've seen him he's looked decent and lively.

    LOL at Lolro

I really want to write a computer program that would beat Lawro, it would be interesting to see how it would do with simple rules (i.e. predict a two-goal win to any big team at home). Or just roll a dice.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

He's way above any player we have a realistic chance of signing. Those potential risks are the only reason he's with us, it's pointless to moan about them.
  22. Well obviously not, but it would be a short forum if we only talked about things we can control. The forum is very much split on this subject so how would it affect it? Just saying we cant control it and discussing it wont make it happen. Fair enough, I slightly missed the point of your post. What I meant was that I'm very surprised to see people (on here and in the wider world/press) talking about replacements for Hughton as if it's something that might or should happen.
  23. I think it's very likely, I don't think what's going on will mean they aren't available to play. Not sure about Nolan's "fitness" though.
