  1. Beye, S Taylor, Bassong would probably be leaving I imagine.
  2. Aye, but to be fair the last game of the season is usually meaningless for us... this one is anything but.
  3. Which Premier League manager WOULDN'T have walked after two (mediocre at very best) players were signed without his say-so? Well I don't want to get into this whole debate again, all I'll say is that we don't know what actually happened.
  4. I almost don't want to post this, as I know we have enough threads debating Ashley, but just to say he is to blame is far too simplistic. Yes, he could have prevented this situation if he had wanted/managed to find a proper manager after KK left... but then again if Keegan hadn't walked out and the fans hadn't thrown their toys out of the pram none of that would have been required anyway. There are far too many variables and possible things that did and didn't happen to try to blame anyone. Let's just hope Ashley gets a chance to put things right in the Premiership.
  5. fine, fine point this like we slate so many players yet it's patently obvious that they don't get a shred of quality training in our first team - i always thought this of steven taylor; when he broke into the first team he was doing what he'd been coached as a kid, i.e. the right stuff, and within a couple of seasons in the first eleven he doing all sorts of crazy shit I think I agree, but there's always the possibility that we see players every game when they play for us, and we see them so little when they leave. That combined with the fact our fans are harsh on our own players might mean that people like Milner and Bramble always seem better when they go elsewhere.
  6. And replacing them with another one. True, but not quite so bad. At least Duff still has the ability to run a bit.
  7. We win,Hull lose,Sunderland lose!!! We win!!!
  8. That's not true at all, I for one have said good things about Ashley and defended some of the things he is trying to do... I've never said he's been 'a success so far' - only an idiot could argue that.
  9. Balls, it's basically ridiculous to use our current situation to score points over anyone.
  10. What happened to Beye like?
  11. Can we save this shit for when we actually are relegated?
  12. Fulham are where they are on merit though, they're organised and don't give much away. They aren't packed with attacking flair but they work well as a team.
  13. Yep, Enrique has been a big miss, he's quality and he allows Duff to move into midfield - thus dislodging one of our shite midfielders.
  14. Well everything has changed, but it good easily change back again after the Villa game.
  15. There's always fans leaving early... no matter what the score or situation. I think they're idiots, but they don't reflect on the rest of us.
  16. Being owned by Ashley and with the prospect of Shepherd returning - we're like a helpless child being fought over by two paedophiles... whichever wins it isn't going to be good for us.
  17. Pretty much my thoughts.
  18. Everyone who has appeared in midfield this season has been a major let down for us... it's too soon to get rid of Jonas and Guthrie but Nolan, Butt, Smith need to be axed, and a number of new midfielders bought.
  19. Those are actually the scores I've put in for my I Know The Score prediction league. If ayone wants to clutch at straws, I'm top of the league by a mile. Not outrageous predictions by any means, I can see that happening.
  20. We were as good as Fulham really, except for letting in that soft goal. After that it was much easier for them, obviously.
  21. Me too, I just hope we aren't in it.
  22. Phil, I don't see why you're so convinced that Man Utd will lose to Hull. It's more likely than if they played their whole first team, but surely they'll still have more than enough to win?
  23. The difference being the former was trying to buy quality. Tbf the blame lies more with Souness than Fatty. Aye, I suppose, but I don't see how trying and failing to buy quality is much better than trying to buy cheaper players with potential and not getting enough in. The result is the same either way, one puts the clubs future in doubt by wrecking its finances, the other does it by getting us relegated. There hasn't been any balance with the current regime. You need to buy one or two big game players to filter in with the hopefuls. I agree with that, the only thing I would say is that maybe the felt forced not to spend big because of the financial state the club was left in. In hindsight obviously it would have been better to spend big to stay up.

  25. We didn't play that badly in the first half, and we could have scored a couple of goals. But as usual we didn't score when we were playing well and then we conceded a soft goal. I only saw it live, but I can't believe Bassong decided to play offside... even though he's got decent pace he does seem to struggle to turn quickly. Once we had conceded Fulham were always going to be favourites, they really compressed the game and made it difficult for us. Since we have very little width and no pace or athleticism we struggled to break them down. On another day we would have got at least a point, but on this evidence Villa will score at least one against us.
