Mike Ashley; what will it take to make you appoint a manager?
AyeDubbleYoo replied to Tsunami's topic in Football
Exactly, it's inexplicable that the club didn't use the illness of Kinnear to get another manager in. It would have been a bit heartless, but usually a business would do that to turn a bad situation to their advantage. We didn't even have to sack JK, we could have kept in on while he recovers then 'encouraged' him to step down at the end of the season. We are crying out for someone to get a grip on the players and motivate this team. We're a classic case of the whole being much less than a sum of its parts at the moment. -
Just having Bramble on the teamsheet made me nervous. He was nailed on for a goal-conceding howler every couple of games, if not more often. Not sure what's going on with Colo recently, his form has definitely dipped, but he's no Titus.

I'm as much a fan as anyone, I can't get to every home game because I live down south, but I follow as closely as I can. All I'm saying is it's getting depressing. Yes, I wanted to avoid the Arsenal game.. but in the end I followed the whole thing. I'll probably do the same with Chelsea. But we're only human, a person can only take so much depression. It's self preservation talking!

I was a bit like that for the Arsenal game, I just didn't want to watch the inevitable defeat. You know it's bad when fans are getting to this stage. How much of a fan are you if you're going to fuck off before a game has even been played. Don't know what you mean, loads of games have been played.

I bought a Henry Barca shirt when he signed for them, was initially gutted as it looked like he was going to flop. As usual a class player was written off to soon though, seems to be getting back to his old self now.

I'm really worried about what might happen if we go down, to the city as well as the club. I just hope that if it does happen it is confirmed after an away game, might take the focus off a bit. Hopefully people will just stay at home being depressed rather than smash the place up.
-
If we go down, it's extremely likely that none of those three things will happen.
-
It's live in video on the BBC website as well.

well said his petulant schoolboy behaviour is one of the reasons we are in this shit..hes nothin but a clown and the amount of people that think the sun shines out of his arse is unreal..the guy has never seen a job out in his life....fuck Keegan complete wanker I know what you mean, I'll never feel the same about Keegan either, but Ashley has made a lot of bad decisions following his departure.
-
How is a dire season scrabbling around the middle of the championship better than 'a dire season at the bottom of the premier league' by the way?
-
No No No Also, why would point 3 necessarily be a good thing, Keegan might well return and fuck off again when things get tough? You can't put your faith in a manager who can't handle the rough times. And Shearer might be a useless manager, we've no idea.
-
All we can hope is that being in the bottom 3 gives the players an almighty kick up the arse... combined with a few players back from injury might see us alright. I still think any of the bottom 10 can go down, although we don't seem to be able to pick up points from anywhere. I'm shitting myself TBH, it actually hurts to think about relegation - and the effect it would have on the club and city.
-
At least if we stay up we have a chance to improve, if we go down we're fucked.
-
We are currently performing as one of the worst teams in the league, whether we're one of the worst three remains to be seen. I'm sure we could equally come up with a similar list of weaknesses for any of the bottom 10.
-
Can't believe anyone can call Ashley a 'leech', when all he has done is put money into the club. He's got a lot of faults, but that's not one of them.
-
I think we understand exactly what this thread is about, that's why we think it's mental!
-
Yawn.
-
If we get relegated we're hardly going to get a world class manager are we?
-
Mental thread, anyone who would choose relegation is clinically insane. Ironically going down will probably increase the chances of Kinnear staying on.
-
He definitely seemed to help Roeder at that time... whenever his decline did or didn't start the man was a legend. Sadly Owen doesn't have a period of incredible success with the club to make us forgive his inevitable decline.
-
Equally, how many people would already have hounded Taylor out of the club if he hadn't been a local lad?
-
Do you not think he already has adapted? He seems to still have the ability to pop up in the right spots, although he can't score the 20 yard run and shots anymore. Problem is we don't see it very much because he plays so little.
-
He answers the questions the journalist asks, and then the journalist decides which quotes to publish to fit his story angle.
-
Taylor would be a better option, Colo is shockingly bad, and im no Taylor fan. Colo is 'shockingly bad'? You can't be serious. He's not been immense the last few games, I'll give you that, but he is definitely streets ahead of Taylor at CB.
