  1. I'm rooting for Villa in a mild kind of way, but I'm not that interested, no.
  2. Based on what? As far as I can see he's been one of our most loyal players. He's been too good for Newcastle for quite a while now, I don't want him to leave but I won't slag him off for wanting to. Whether Man City should be his destination is questionable though. He did put a transfer request in once before after being left out for one game I had forgotten about that TBH, but out of 11 years I think we can put that down to a blip rather than the fact he's always wanted to be away.

  4. I guess he doesn't want his stock to fall if we get relegated, he's highly rated at the moment and wants to capitilise.
  5. Wigan boss Steve Bruce is also said to be a big fans on the £3-rated plater. is this a blog or written by a monkey smacking it's head on a keyboard?
  6. So do I. Any reason? Wouldn't be against it, just wondering.
  7. Can't hold anything against Shay, he should be made a saint for the service he's given us over the years. Will be very sad to see him go, although if we were going to sell him at all now isn't a bad time to maximise the return.
  8. Maybe giving it to a new signing like Nolan will be like when a new boss comes in at work, everyone tows the line for a while until they find out what's going on. If we bring him in to boss the midfield, then maybe giving him the armband will boost his authority and help him motivate the players around him more.
  9. Berbatov is pure class but i agree that Tevez is over-rated. There's no way he's worth £25m - he works very hard but for £25m i'd want about 10 more gaols per season from him Not sure, Berbatov is class but you can't build a team (or even a strikeforce) with Berbatovs, Tevez is the ideal player for Man Utd at the moment.
  10. One thing we can say about the club at the moment is that they seem to be good at extracting the most money for players. The Milner sale was a good example. (Obviously I delete this if the final fee is £5m!)
  11. If we got Michael Ball in exchange the negativity on here would hit record levels! Johnson would be class, but isn't he injured short-term?
  12. I think he might be heading the way of Bernard... talks himself up then ends up at an average club and derails his whole career. I wouldn't shed a tear.
  13. I forgot about the captaincy as well, I say give him the armband straight away, we've got nobody else to wear the thing.
  14. It's getting to the point when we won't be able to spend the Shay money, we need to get some players in exchange.
  15. Deed poll, the solution to the N'Zogbia problem. Or should I call him Jimmy Smith?
  16. I admire your constant creation of positive threads Prophet, someone's got to do it!
  17. why ? Hardly professional, this sort of thing shouldn't even come out in the press. A top managers comment would have been I'll speak with the player tomorrow in training. Alex Ferguson would have said that then you never would have seen the player again. I know things are bad at the minute and the club is silent so any comment seems good but the fact is this has been one of our problems in the past, doing everything through the press. Should be kept out of the press totally. I don't agree, He had been accussed of insulting a player, and however ridiculous, I think it was absolutely right for JK to come out and qiuckly dismiss the Zogs faux outrage it as the nonsense that it was. souness-eque...compound the original perceived insult by making a new one in response to a question about the original one!! Thats basically what my worry is with JK I normally cannot stand his constant jabbering, but when a player say's he is so insulted that he will never play again over something so innocuous, there needs to be a quick response. But that response doesn't have to be to the press. Normally I'd agree, but in this case it doesn't worry me as the Zog situation has been beyond help for ages. It's obvious he's just looking for any excuse to force a move, and JK actually sounded quite sensible in response.
  18. I'd love it if we were in the position to just keep him and let him rot, but sadly we can't turn down the transfer fee. I've supported the Zog and thought he was badly treated when we signed Duff, but he's making himself look the worst kind of dick at the moment.
  19. Surely it's a better signing now than five years ago? Then we could have better players than Nolan, now we absolutely need the likes of him.
  20. Pretty much the thought approach that I'm taking. You need to pick yourself up a bit lads, I know it's depressing at the moment but surely these are positive moves? I'd say Veloso is a long shot but Nolan and Ebondo look like they will happen.
  21. Shit, I just opened the thread to do the same joke!
  22. He's actually not that old either is he? He's got potential if he can unlock it again. A body for midfield, can't complain, in the circumstances a very good signing.
  23. I think he's got a fair point TBH, I love Keegan as much as anyone but he can't come out of this mess without his share of the blame. We would all be better off if he had just put the club before himself and stuck it out.
